MotoGP » 2014 MotoGP rider contracts

@ HolyMoly A 1-yr deal is already on the table for Cal to stay at Tech 3 if he wants it. That's what Yamaha, Monster Energy, Herve Poncharal and Dorna all want. If it happens then it'll be an Espargaro-Crutchlow team, and Bradley will be the casualty. However, I'll be amazed if Cal stays. I think Ducati will make him an offer he feels he can't refuse.

MotoGP » Crutchlow: I can’t wait to come back

@ Guna4699 You're right, Tech 3 and Yamaha have made a decision for next year, and that decision is that they want to keep #35. Lin Jarvis at Assen: "We are working with Tech 3 to try to keep Cal," Sponsors Monster Energy and Dorna/Ezpeleta also very much want him to stay with Yamaha. However, I think the Yamaha deal will be a factory contract and a pay hike, but NOT a factory bike (they've always been adamant they won't run more than 2). And that's why I think the most likely option right now is that Cal will sign with Ducati for 2014/2015.

WSS » Sam Lowes reveals WSBK, Moto2 interest

Good to year that Sam is planning to move on. He's too good to stay mired in the WSS class any longer and is capable of much more. I would be counselling a move to Moto2. It would have to be on competitive kit of course, but then his manager Neil Hodgson knows all too well the perils of stepping up without top flight machinery, so I'm sure he'll find a good ride for Sam if that's the path they take.

MotoGP » Inspired by Lorenzo after Assen aches

Solid result from Smith, though perhaps he was a little lucky that Dovi took himself and Nicky off track to let him through. When his injuries are healed, he ought really to have the measure of both Ducs on that M1. Bradley is far from disgracing himself, but he could really do with a couple more top six finishes for his CV while Yamaha are reviewing their rider situation for next year.

MotoGP » Crutchlow: A great battle until the end

No doubt Cal will take flak for his usual poor start and for again not showing his best pace until the later stages. Definitely his two major weaknesses. The significant thing here though is that he has finally shown that he is capable of 'alien' race pace, and that he can be considered a genuine threat to the factory riders in races instead of just qualifying. That's a pretty big positive to take away despite any missed opportunities.

MotoGP » Rossi fastest in Assen warm up, Lorenzo eighth!

Contrary to some wild claims, Crutchlow does not have 'full factory support' for this race. Neither does he have one of JL's bikes or any new parts. The Yamaha guys in Cal's garage are the factory engineers for Rossi and JL, and have been routinely coming in to collect data from Crutchlow's team since Jerez. They're there to gather info for the factory riders, not to help #35!
