MotoGP » Crutchlow out, Iannone in at Ducati

rbr46: Held out until after 31st July so Ducati are forced to pay him his 2015 salary. Clever but greedy.
He won't get paid by Ducati for 2015 if he doesn't race for them in 2015. And seeing as he's almost certainly taking a very large pay cut to drop down into a satellite team, I'd suggest it's racing ambition rather than greed that's providing the impetus for the move.

MotoGP » Espargaro ‘feeling strong’, Smith ‘primed’

RaceRoad: really? BS still here....... when do we know AE joining tech3!!!
A lot of people here suggesting BS is on the chopping block unless his results pick up. But he does have one big thing in his favour: Dorna subsidise any team that runs a rider of "under-represented nationality" i.e. UK, Germany etc. Is Herve really going to kick him out and lose out on that valuable cash injection to help run the team?

MotoGP » Crutchlow: If we can alter my bike we’ll get results

PattyC: "...everyone will know my secrets." What secrets?!
I'm pretty sure he was being 'ironic' with that comment. Seems to me that wet conditions are still helping to offset some of the problems he's having with the Duc - particularly the understeer & lack of lean angle. The wet portion of the race saw him finally racing the thing with confidence and holding a top 5 place. I think an entirely wet race might have seen him post a much better finish. Still sounds like they're completely lost in the dry though.

MotoGP » Moto2: Lowes slips out of podium place

Sam Lowes is easily good enough to compete for a Moto2 World Championship title. Anybody who thinks differently really isn't capable of appraising a rider's talent. Yes, he's making mistakes. He did in his first year of WSS too. But he's fast and his race craft is very good. All he needs is a bit more experience and hopefully a better chassis for next year. Unquestionably the real deal, and in my view the UK's brightest talent on the world stage right now. He'll get there.

MotoGP » Crutchlow: I took advantage of the situation

Cal didn't exactly adapt to MotoGP very quickly. Far from it. It took him pretty much a year to figure out how to ride a GP bike - specifically a Yamaha - and he spent another 2 years fine tuning his ability on a Yamaha. No surprise then that the adaptation to another machine - especially one as flawed as this one - is going to take a lot of time. Honestly I wouldn't be at all surprised if the acclimating and adjusting doesn't take as long as it did in the first place when he came to MotoGP - i.e. a year. Next season will in all likelihood be a whole lot better. And I do think he'll be willing to put it on the line when he finds some confidence. It's more a question of whether he and Ducati are ready or willing to ride out the storm.

RR » TT2014: Karl Harris loses life in Superstock incident

Just the saddest, most awful news. I was worried for Karl when he announced his intention to go road racing, because - lets face it - he hasn't always been the luckiest guy when it comes to racing incidents, and even though he always bravely bounced back, the TT course was never going to be as forgiving if anything went wrong. You just really hoped that it never would. Condolences to all who knew and were close to Karl. This is a very black day for the sport.
