MotoGP » Restarted race ‘toughest of year’ for Kent

ElbowDown93: it's annoying when these guys keep on 'complimenting' Kent every single session
Well it's hard not to be complimentary when he leads practically every session! What should they do, ignore the fastest, most consistent guy in the championship? Beefs about commentary aside, I think Kent will have a point to prove at Silverstone. He really does need to reassert his authority on track, so I hope this time that the team give him the tools to do the job.

MotoGP » Redding talks Pramac Ducati offer

"I do believe I have more talent than them...I do believe I am a better rider than them.” Unintelligent, obnoxious, and totally unnecessary comments. You just don't hear the real top riders - Lorenzo, Rossi, Marquez - ever saying things like that. They just don't feel the need to rub their self-belief in people's faces. After comparing himself to Marquez, knocking off Espargaro without apology and now this, I'm coming to the conclusion that SR is either on a mission to make himself dislikable or that he simply isn't very bright. Go Petrucci & Hernandez!

MotoGP » Riders comment on Kent’s proposed MotoGP jump

Why spend a year learning how to ride a Moto2 bike when he could spend that year learning the ropes in MotoGP? Even if he were to do an amazing job and win the Moto2 title, there's still no guarantee that he'd have the chance to move up to MotoGP again. And switching now, when all the riders are going to have to adjust to running Michelin tyres, won't place him at such a disadvantage as when they all have a year or 2 years' experience on the Michelins. I think it's a no-brainer with that kind of offer, but only Kent knows what level of pressure he wants to put on himself.

MotoGP » Cal Crutchlow stays at LCR

Good for Cal. I can vouch for him being a genuinely good guy away from the track and for his generosity and patience with fans. But I really hope he can get that Honda up somewhere near the front again and show some of that fighting spirit and aggression we used to see regularly. If he can't, then I'd honestly prefer to see him run a Moto2 campaign or ride for a WSBK title than become a career MotoGP rider who just sticks it out for the money. That would be a real shame.

MotoGP » Bradley Smith signs Tech 3 deal

Tomco: And none of the knowitalls have come up with one serious suggestion of who could do better than BS on the Yamaha Tech3.
Well Yamaha thought they'd come up with one: Alex Rins. Smith's place was reportedly offered to Rins no less than 3 times over the summer break, so we might say that that #38 is fortunate that Rins declined, preferring to stay in Moto2 for a title challenge first. This time next year, however, I'd expect to see that move take place, hence the 1-yr-only extension for Smith. None of this is to discredit the job BS is doing on the Tech 3, but it's doubtful he figures in any of Yamaha's longer term plans.

MotoGP » LCR talks Castrol, Crutchlow, 2016...

Lodge: Would't be too difficult for him to do to Crutch what he did to Sykes over a season.
It would be next to impossible. A career superbike guy couldn't be expected to come in and overhaul a quick MotoGP rider with 5 years' experience in under one season. It's not realistic. Rea is a great rider though. He's got the makings of a multiple champion in the World Superbike series. But as far as MotoGP goes - no, that ship has already sailed. Too loyal to the wrong people for too long, unfortunately.

MotoGP » Crutchlow: We need more testing

Not forgetting in all of this that Bartholemy is also Redding's own personal manager. And being the diligent businessman that he is, I'm sure he will seek to place Scott where the long-term financial compensation is healthiest. Any good manager would do the same. And if there's a competitive motorcycle to be had into the bargain, then so much the better!
