F1 » Pirelli confirms changes for Canada

Pete, totally agree with the technicalities but totally baffled by your interpretations of what I said. Will repeat, if there are two men/teams that can find a good set up (if there is one possible) that’s these two men/teams. And additionally, yes, if there was a possibility that things can be changed at a moment’s notice these two men/teams can do it. There might be instances were design as is will restrict or makes it hard/harder to change geometry of suspension, an example/s are pick up points and parts of the real suspension being inside the gearbox (where the clutch is supposed to be). it was rumoured that Force India tried their version of FRIC in Spain but reverted back to normal suspension.

Richard, why is it exactly that I should be ashamed for mentioning Brown and Newey at the same time? Don’t you regard them as the top two men in F1?. I know that Newey is a designer but you are mistaken big time if you believe that he designs (in the proper sense of the word) the Red Bull car. No the goal posts weren’t moved, what was done was stopping Red Bull breaking the rules (off throttle mapping, lunch control, traction control, hole in floor, holes in wheel hub) but one problem remained, that is they were left to keep the points gained while breaking the rules. And still no answer to my questions!

In my opinion a single tyre suppler is best for F1. What some term as tyre specification is dictated to Pirelli by the FIA. Car setup has nothing to do with the problems of Mercedes and Red Bull. If a setup to solve the problem was possible on the Mercedes and Red Bull designs (car) as is be assured that they would have done it. I do think about what I see on TV, and a lot at that.

F1 » Mateschitz: F1 'not racing any more'

The teams has been provided with the same tyre COMPOUND when testing and that includes the samples provided in Brazil last year, do not get tripped or messed up in technicalities, compound/construction is not changed by adjustments up or down in the temperatures the tyres will operate at. Pirelli will again adjust the tyre operating temperature for Canada like they did for Spain, this to get the number of pit stops to two/three per race from four. We will have to wait and see what will happen in Canada, the temperature on race day will most probably be a bigger factor than the changes Pirelli will do.

It is a fact that (the teams/drivers/their supporters and DIDI INCLUDED) that are screaming murder re the Pirelli tyres all have an axe to grind, instead of screaming murder all the above should be talking real facts as it stands in F1, the facts are that the two established men at the very top of F1 CAR DESIGN namely Ross Brawn (Mercedes) and Adrian Newey (Red Bull) has been beaten so far this year by lesser known men at Ferrari and Lotus. I will repeat my question from yesterday, is it right or just/fair for Pirelli to change the goal posts to help Mercedes and Red Bull car design cope better with their tyres at the expense of FERRARI and Lotus?. Or should by right just and a fair way Mercedes and Red Bull try harder to make their car use the current tyres as good as or better than Ferrari and Lotus?. I challenge everybody on this forum to answer the above questions but no BS OR GRINDING OF AXES.

F1 » War of words over tyre wear heats up

Richard, be assured that I am not supporting the current tyres, what I am supporting is those teams that got their car design right for the use of the current tyres which everybody is racing on and I will reiterate that regardless of what you call a majority of posters/sites including the RBR boss are saying it is not right or fair on these teams that are managing the tyres ok to move the goal posts, what is the right thing to do is for RBR and Mercedes to improve their car’s use of the current tyres. It was a surprise reading you saying that the rules were changed during a season, a rule can only be changed during a season on safety grounds, what was done was clarifications of some rules forced on the FIA by RBR not only being totally border line but going well over that line of rules interpretations.

Richard, it is just not right and very unfair to press on with the need for Pirelli to change the tyre compound (goal posts) because some teams car design cannot handle the tyres as good as others and skip the fair and just question of (WHAT ABOUT THOSE THAT GOT THEIR CAR DESIGN RIGHT?) WHAT ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO DO? START ALL OVER AGAIN SO THAT OTHERS WILL BE PLEASED?
