MotoGP » Dovizioso on Ducati: The bad point is now

People are still going with the if Stoner was on it. They say he handed over a winning bike, but as RabCati showed there were a number of issues which bumped him up the list in 2010. Equally in 2010 it was 3 wins and 5 DNFs. Rossi then came onto a bike cold versus a rider who had been on it for four years. Hardly a valid comparison. Stoner would have placed 5th instead of Rossi's 6th and maybe not event that as I think his win at all costs determination (a good quality) would have meant his luck of not getting seriously injured on the Duc would have run out. He knew he wouldn't win that is why he went to Honda.

MotoGP » Hayden: Door not closed on Ducati Austin test

Also can someone confirm, they did not change the engine at all even when going to a cradle frame. The reason I ask is the engine and casings were designed to be stressed members and thus extremely heavy comparative to an engine that is not. Given that they have not remotely redesigned the engine once the cradle frame came along woudl seem to: a)mean they have missed th opportunity to reduce the weight of the engine and may correct the bikes balance b)mean that developing the aluminimum cradle has been a waste of time if you don't redesign the engine away from a stressed member design.

MotoGP » Hayden: Door not closed on Ducati Austin test

@Ash if the system is doing didly squat surely the Ducati "system" should work at every circuit. Why the endless analysis, it is obvious that Ducati are the problem not the riders and maybe Audi are biding their time and over the season a new bike will emerge. As for Ducatisti, yeah Rossi was obviously the problem hence after two years off a Yam he places third .1 behind his team mate. Take off the blinkers, Hayden has been the most outspoken he has every been and Dovi looks like he is about to cry...

MotoGP » Nicky Hayden: Ducati need something big

I read on another forum how Hayden was as fast as Rossi on the Duc. As others have stated Rossi made a difference. And finally the voice of reason, only a blind man could not see that Duc are the problem not the riders, I firmly believe that Stoner new what was wrong just as Vale did they won't listen. And every year Duc stands still while the other move on which is why comparing what Stoner did in 2010 to what Vale faced in 2011 and 2012 especially is flawed Yam and Honda both made major steps particularly in 2012 and Stoner would have faced a similar outcome possibly falling more often as he tried to do the impossible Vale simply decided I am not going to do, common sense in my opinion especially if the factory ignores you.
