MotoGP » Simon disagrees with Stoner

At the end of the day CS wanted it both ways he wanted to say what he thought (which was variously interpreted as telling it like it is or spouting crap) but then somehow not be held to account. I wonder about his communication skills because seemed to say alot of things in such a way that they could easily be misinterpreted (and agree that the media is also to blame) but blind freddy could see that some of those statements would garner a pretty strong response which he then used as one basis for him leaving. As Ozzy Osbourne once sang those you criticise (constantly) you make your enemy...

MotoGP » Rossi sets sights on 80th MotoGP win

Codger just as it would have been interesting if he had left two years earlier I also wonder what would have happened if Casey had stayed at Duc these last two years. As I firmly believe that as Honda made the catchup and if anything made a leap forward (and Dani also) that despite the rhetoric Casey's performance on the Duc would not have been markedly different to that of Rossi particularly in 2012. Equally if you look at 2012 Casey was on one of the best bikes and both lost a equal machinery head to head battle with his team mate and had a season ending getoff so it does not necessarily follow that Stoner would have dominated even if he had gone to Honda two years earlier. A good chance but not automatic especially with Rossi still on a Yam during those two years.

MotoGP » Stoner leaves door ajar to MotoGP return

Not a stoner fan, I think you can see that not everyone thinks the sun shines out of Casey's... Dacron that is a blanket statement Casey by all accounts was heading back to Switzerland, not work commitments, equally even if he did I am sure if he said to sponsors "sorry guys one of my fellow riders died on the circuit you may have caught in TV, and I want to go to the funeral - response no sorry mate you can't go we need you to flog our oil, yeah right, like I said maybe he wasn't invited but I am sure if he shown a desire to be there room would have been made...

MotoGP » Rossi, Lorenzo talk MotoGP 2013 during Jakarta visit

Well said Bond, Casey left Ducati because the bike was going backwards, Rossi thought he could turn it around he couldn't he left. What you expect these guys to stick around on the vague assumption that things will improve 2 years is more than enough time to see a change. I fear that Ducati may change but that is because they got a German on board. Either way neither Casey nor Rossi were quitters because they left Ducati they did it because it was the logical thing to do, and they were good enough riders to get gigs with the two best factory teams.

MotoGP » Stoner leaves door ajar to MotoGP return

Nicho last time I checked no one forced Casey to get married or have kids. Also look a Colin Edwards 83 yo, 2 kids and wife and clutches on anything in MotoGp for grim death because he LOVES it. As for leaving because it was being dummed down easy for Casey to say, a full prototype class would mean 4 bikes plus Ducati 1.5 seconds back. Also this coming from the great Australian who was approach by the organisers of PI to do a 30 sec piece to camera while @ PI and refused to promote his home GP WTF. And sorry the reference to Simoncelli is hypocritical.

MotoGP » Casey Stoner set for V8 Supercar deal?

@Bo I am not the first and this includes professional commentators, ex racers etc to observe that Stoner wants super clean passing etc, like Lorenzo which is why it was these leading the spray at Simo (RIP). It will be interesting to see Lorenzos view of Marquez who doesn't mind "aggressive" riding. As for V8 Supercar there is paintswapping often so it is more how he will react rather than the other drivers, which is not to question his skills purely his mentality. As for Rossi wining a race or consistently standing on the dias you may be right but it sounds like what you want rather than the likely reality.

MotoGP » Casey Stoner set for V8 Supercar deal?

Stoner does not seem to like the close racing as others have mentioned. Equally, there are a number of fiery characters in V8s who don't pull their punches (pity Skaifie aint still there) so I don't expect that Casey will be able to shoot his mouth off without getting a blast back. As for on the track all I can say is I think it will be an education. But I would pay a large amount to watch Rossi at the mountain that would be gold...
