MotoGP » Marquez: Slick change was key to victory

I am Rossi fan but yeah all this tripe about lucky, I simply think MM remembers Silverstone and said to himself in the wet against Rossi I am not a certainty (to win) and the pit guys advised him to come in. He was smart and took the advice and won. Well done. As for Rossi's blunder I think the issue is that he was in front of Jorge and so he was always going to be in a position of having to react to what Jorge did as he (Jorge) could pit without Rossi really knowing and that is what transpired but then lunched it trying to hard on the out lap. I predicted a few races ago that rain could be a major disrupter, I might have to join Julian as special commentator.

MotoGP » Rossi: There will be a lot of pressure on me

While I think that fragility existed in earlier years I think Jorge has matured in that area. Equally as an earlier article on crashed showed Jorge has closed the gap to Rossi three times this season so I think the idea that he will struggle to catchup is fantasy. As some have noted the only solution here is for Rossi to finish ahead of Jorge more time that Jorge finishes ahead of him. The bright point is that they are pretty evenly split in terms of wins at particular tracks as Rossi is very strong at say Sepang and PI but Jorge at a number of others. Either way as always my fear is a brain fade or purposeful/spiteful clash with MM which came close in the wet last race...

MotoGP » Rossi, Lorenzo talk chances of Misano showdown

Yeah let's all take our hand off it, none of them get special tyres as Guna explained some tyres work well for Jorge probably more than other riders, but they are freely available to all. However, I would agree about the age, sorry at 36 versus guys in their 20s, the fact that he is leading the WC says as much if not more about them than him. Put this way I would be happy to put money down that neither Jorge or MM will be leading the WC at three quarter season at 36.

MotoGP » ‘Chances not too high’ of Miller staying in LCR

Good point Pudge and as for Miller, yes it frustrates me no end that he keeps ditching it particularly as I feel he has talent and Silverstone showed this, but that move on Cal was ridiculous, it was like 4 bike lengths in the rain!!! It is a pity you can't stop the race and say to these guys take a deep breath and essentially stay where you are as you will look amazing to come from 17th? to 6th on an open bike. I would also point out that both Stoner and Jorge were throwing it down the road a great deal in their rookie years. You need experience I think Miller shows enough talent to justify at least one more year and then review.

MotoGP » ‘Chances not too high’ of Miller staying in LCR

Look having raced a little bit you do often commit to a corner and a certain appoach and sometimes things change in front of you and from a camera it looks complete nuts but when you are on the bike when you commit it is completely legit, but then the whole thing changes in ways that you cannot account for and at some pretty high speeds. The good thing I take away from this was Miller's complete contrition, a much better result than some of our tennis players.

MotoGP » Rossi: Lorenzo 'strong', 'careful' with Marquez

Marc may not be a psycho but he is petulant and this only reared its head because he is losing. Everyone seems nice when they are winning, the look on his face and Livio's at the press conference confirms they are not happy and I don't think it is a stretch to say that Marc would attempt to bump Rossi. As for Rossi's WC hopes, he seems very happy with the changes post Barca, it he can consistently get onto even the second row or above sorry under those circumstances (i.e. in the leading group after the first lap) Rossi is more than a chance to win more races, as toe to toe on competitive machinery he can outrace MM and Jorge as he has shown this season, he just needs to be behind them from the start of the race.

MotoGP » Rossi: Victory crucial for championship hopes

Very simply he had to win this and Jorge was 14 sec back. Will the next race be like this likely not but it stems the flow. Was it just me or was the post race interview intensely awkward. Also I think the love affair between vale and Marc is firmly over as rossi seemed clearly annoyed / perturbed. Rd 9 will be very interesting. Well done valentino did what you had to do.
