MotoGP » Austin MotoGP: Rossi defensive sixth, 'lost part of a disc'

Look he did not fire all weekend for various reasons but to finish 16 seconds down having come from 7th to 2nd in the previous race against almost all the guys who finished ahead of him would suggest there was an issue with bike. Yeah the haters will take it at face value because it serves their purposes but if the bike is OK then Rossi will be firing in Jerez. Another long 2 weeks.

MotoGP » Austin MotoGP: Marvellous Marquez makes history with Texas win

Well done Marquez great effort and Dani will never win a WC I am afraid. As for those bagging 46 yep haters gonna hate. Given he passed Crutchlow at the last race it is obvious there was something. Though well done to Crutchlow and yes they should give him a factory backed bike. Jerez here we come. Also has Rossi got Spies bike seems the problems are all on one side of the factory.

MotoGP » Austin MotoGP: Rossi 'Hondas are very fast, big difference'

coffee pretty much spot on despite Yams efforts the honda gearbox makes a huge difference in terms of acceleration out of slow corners and therefore reaching terminal speed sooner on long straights. Both JL and VR will be looking to come out of this with as much points as possible. Yep if they can get in front but on the long straight they will get nailed.

MotoGP » Austin MotoGP: Extra motivation for Valentino Rossi

@Bender agreed about Stoner on the Duc in 2012 or this year once again in FP1 Dovi up there like Losail only to finish 8th. While Stoner could ride the Duc better than Dovi and likely Rossi it is pretty clear that by 2012 Yam and Honda had stretched the gap even further. If you say had Stoner on the Duc, MM with two seasons in the Honda and Rossi back on an M1 and with the proliferation of unofficial factory bikes 6th is Stoner's likely position. As someone else pointed out it should be interesting to see the body language should Rossi start pressuring Jlo, which is very possible over the 18 race season.

MotoGP » Austin MotoGP: Rossi set to go second on-time start list

As I have always said yeah win loss most wins yadda yadda fact is Rossi only rider since 2006 to defend his title and that was against CS and JL. Also the Duc has been steadily going backwards each year since 2007 that is why Stoner left and Rossi was stupid enough to take it on. Stoner won 3 in his last season given that Honda stepped up and Yam as well it is like that wins would have been few for Stoner in 2011 / 12. Dave I agree either it is all their time in the competition or it ain't you can't move the goal posts or pick Rossi's move to Duc to suddenly release a stats page out of Aust MCN.
