NASCAR » Danica Patrick confirms NASCAR move

Good riddance! She's never been able to turn right and belongs in the PR world of NASCAR. One fluke win in Indycars after years with top teams isn't much of a resume. Perhaps now fans of open wheel racing will see coverage that's not "The Danica Patrick Show." Sarah Fisher was a much better driver but never got a top ride because she wasn't as "cute" as Danica. That's a shame.

MotoGP » Casey Stoner – 1000cc Q&A

@Painless, Iwasn't "belittling" Doohan at all, just using historical facts to shoot holes in Huh's comment that doing away with electronic aids would make racing less competitive. I have great respect for Doohan and count it a priviledge to have met him. He's tough as nails and certainly one of the greats of the sport.

MotoGP » Casey Stoner – 1000cc Q&A

@Huh, your Doonah/electronics argument just doesn't add up. Yes, he utterly dominated the sport for years, but you're overlooking the fact that it took him 6 years on a factory Honda to win his 1st championship and only then after the retirements of Gardner, Rainey, Lawson and Schwantz. Sure Kevin hung on a couple of years into the "Doohan era" but he was so beat up by then he couldn't handle the braking forces. The aforementioned riders rode without all the rider aids and that era was the greatest in GP history. Far better than the gas it and trust the electronics to modulate wheelspin racing we have now.

NASCAR » Danica back in Nationwide for Chicago

Go directly to NASCAR and stay there, Danica. Then we open wheel race fans will be able to watch a race without it turning into the Danica Patrick show. Indy was pathetic. Sarah Fisher was a better driver but never had a competitive car, unlike Danica who's had top equipment, yet only won one race. She's hopeless on road courses and would be a perfect fit in the mega advertising world of NASCAR.

MotoGP » Casey Stoner anticipates more ‘aliens’ in 2011

Leave it to Motormouth Edwards to misuse the term "Alien." I cringe every time I see it here. Everywhere else that's reserved for someone truly "out of this world", or "from another planet." The only rider currently competing who deserves that accolade is Valentino Rossi. Period. No one else on the grid has come remotely close to duplicating his achievements. That's not to say 1 or 2 of the current crop won't one day deserve such a title, but they're a long way from it now. And no, Rossi isn't my favorite rider, but I sure repect his ability.

MotoGP » Lorenzo, Spies fast and confident with new Yamaha

@ proud spaniard: "Flashy early results"? Spies has been nothing but a winner throughout his career. Beating Mladin in AMA showed his potential. His dominance in WSB on an unfamiliar bike (Yamaha, that had nver won the title) on tracks he'd never ridden was the most impressive performance in the history of that series. Yes, the depth of rider talent in WSB isn't as deep as MotoGP, but that doesn't detract from Spies' achievement. If you look at history, quite a few Supoerbike riders have won the MotoGP title and I see no reason why Spies won't be a strong contender for the title next year and I rate his talent as second to none. Only his weight is a disadvantage.
