MotoGP » Official: Movistar returns to MotoGP with Yamaha

Telefonica/Movistar pulled out of racing over a disagreement with Honda and Repsol. When Honda signed Dani, Telefonica/Movistar had wanted to continue their backing, having funded Dani through the junior classes. Repsol insisted that if Pedrosa was to be in the factory team, he should be racing in Repsol colors, not in Telefonica/Movistar colors. Seeing their investment in Pedrosa going to waste, Telefonica/Movistar pulled out of Grand Prix motorcycle racing altogether. So long term scenario (Spanish battle) is: Pol Espargaro (YamahaTelefonica/Movistar) vs Marc Marquez (Honda Repsol)

MotoGP » Valentino Rossi 'wants another two years'

theeagle: Yamaha would be foolish to offer him a new contract.
It depends on many factors, many options is on the table. If JLo goes elsewhere, i'm sure he will stay with Pol E. (factory contract) as a new team mate. If JLo stays with Yamaha, then i think that it will depends probably on his results, or Yamaha plans (they offered him superbike option for 2015) which can change. I don't think that he is in position to dictate conditions for new contract.

Rowdy75: My comment was tongue in cheek, I know Forward will be FTR chassis, but I hope for their sake it is less R1 and more M1 lol.
Forward may be building their own chassis, but I doubt Aliex will be racing it this year. Why should he? He has Cal's bike from last year, with more fuel and horsepower.
Forward is testing their frame in Qatar with Edwards. They are going to race it since Yamaha provides only engine and frame if they don't change mind.
Interestingly... Forward Racing is now listed with 'Forward Yamaha' machinery (rather than FTR-Yamaha). Likewise the FTR name is now missing from the Avintia machinery.
