F1 » Ecclestone proposes short-cut plan

OK. I took the pee a bit earlier on and no-one seems to think this is a good idea. But I actually think it's got some merit. I think abandoning fuel stops was a bad idea, it took the 'strategy' out of the racing. This shortcut idea could bring that back and put it in the hands of the drivers rather than the teams. Assuming every driver remembered to take all five shortcuts, the last 10 laps could be quite exciting as the drivers reshuffled into their true positions. Those that hadn't used any shortcuts in the race could jump from mid-field to race leaders. Shortcuts would have to be banned in the first couple of laps though.

F1 » POLL: Will Button be 'murdered' by Hamilton in F1 2010?

I can't understand all this no.2 driver stuff. If a driver is nominally number 2 but knows he's better than his team-mate, what's he got to lose from going out and beating him like Hamilton did? If he gets sacked (which he won't), another team will want him. I know people think they get inferior equipment, but what's the point in sending out an sub-standard car? In the past 20 years only Schumacher and Hamilton have come into the sport and shook it by the throat. (Some may say Alonso too.) Button's had years to show what he's got and he hasn't delivered. I vote yes, he'll get murdered.
