F1 » Fernandes: Only Ferrari can rival emotion of Lotus

Sorry to disappoint all you doubters, but a name does mean a lot. Take football as an example. 50 years ago a team might be made up of players all born within 10 miles of the ground. Now a Premiership team can be made entirely of overseas players and run by a far-east consortium, yet the fans still believe it's their team. Using the Lotus name is a shrewd move. I doubt they'll be any good, but it's a clever piece of marketing.

F1 » Brawn: We didn't push Jenson Button, he jumped

Before everyone gets too excited with the conspiracy theories, it was Mercedes who said they were in contact with MS six months ago, not Brawn. I'm sure if Mercedes wanted an F1 team they had options other than buying Brawn. Admittedly McLaren would have been an unlikely purchase, but Force India maybe? Or one of the departing teams. Also. I don't think anyone earning several million per year should be afforded the same kind of employment rights as regular Joe and Jo Publics, especially when they're out of contract.

F1 » BBC favourite Top Gear nearing the end of the road?

If you read Clarkson's books and newspaper articles, it's clear that he's a bigoted buffoon with a political agenda of his own. He's very clever in veiling his far-right politics behind a comedic front but one day he's going to let something slip out that reveals his true self. A fall from grace greater than Kilroy Silk's awaits and his Middle England Fascist League Party will be vying with the BNP for the votes of Daily Express readers in the home counties.
