F1 » Lotus F1: Trulli a possibility, Villeneuve isn't

I'm not sure that using the Lotus name is going to do Proton any good. If their business is selling Proton cars, shouldn't they be concentrating on that instead of wasting valuable publicity on the Lotus brand? What are their intentions for the Lotus brand? Is it sporting marque for their cars like Ford's RS? Expectations will not be high for the Proton/Lotus team, and people do like an underdog. Racing under the Proton name could gain them the sort of affection that Skoda got in rallying or Volvo got when they entered estate cars in the BTCC.
