Although the Moto2 class has been hugely entertaining in racing terms, by and large, it was always difficult for me personally to see how they came up with the formula. After all, if they were going to go to 250 singles to replace 125s, then surely 500cc twins would have made more sense with 1000 4s coming back too? Would have kept the factories' development costs down too, no? Or was using 600 control engines purely and simply the cheapest option?
