MotoGP » Guy Coulon (Tech 3) - Q&A

"No matter how things are set, if you tried to open the throttle mid corner you'd get a nasty surprise. " Hubris! He talks as though he is the last word. Let me correct that statement. "No matter how things are set, with a naturally aspirated engine, if you tried to open the throttle mid corner at the wrong rpm you'd get a nasty surprise. " YES with your stupid naturally aspirated engines that is what you get. A supercharged engine will deliver a perfectly linear power curve. No sudden surges or power bands. But forget that lets just use antiquated garbage technology because . . . because ummmm. Oh I know this is the "prototype" class. Maybe someone can tell me why are we using naturally aspirated engines on racing motorcycles? Because I cannot see any reason to use them at all.

MotoGP » Marquez: It can’t go on forever!

The thread is about Marquez and his amazing talent, or whether that talent can be attributed to the machinery he is on. Then the discussion developed to riders who have done amazing things on more than one bike. Then to the intellectual capacity of some of the 'fans' who post here. Come on? A discussion about the greats who rode a different bike. But don't mention the one who really did it on a pig. Lest you incur the wrath of the crash hordes.

I'd settle for supercharging (no turbo garbage), 750cc, zero rider aids and no control tyres. And a combined rider/bike weight limit. A sensible one one not the ridiculous lead barge value that they have now. If someone wants to rev a supercharged engine to 30000rpm then by all means knock yourself out. If they want to build a 10 cylinder engine then by all means, do so. If they want to carry 60 litres of fuel around, fine, you can do that too.

The only show in town. Be nice to have a rebel series but the people with loads of cash to throw around aren't interested in motorcycle racing. Mostly they want to make more money so that they can have lots of it when they die. Yes, people are stupid. Always have been. Always will be. We get the politicians we deserve because most people are stupid. We get the racing we deserve for the same reason.
