F1 » Rosberg ready for Hamilton challenge

@koolkat - well put, these drivers are mere thousandths of a second apart and basically all do the same job. However, people who can't see the extra bit of magic possessed by Alonso, Hamilton and Vettel are not paying attention. And Webber, Perez and Button are close. The others are just ordinarily brilliant.

F1 » F1 2012 POLL: Has Lewis made right call going to Mercedes?

The fact that McLaren raised their offer to Lewis suggests that they really weren't sick of him. They had hoped he would work with them to reduce costs, not expecting Mercedes to bid so high. But when the auction was under way they made a potentially winning bid of the same money plus a winning car. From Lewis' point of view, apart from the greater freedom for his sponsors, I'm darn sure he wouldn't have gone for any team he didn't feel was offering an opportunity to develop them into champions. And Mercedes is the only team which is in any sense new but also capable of winning. Finally, if you know Lewis' history you will know he has had a long association with Mercedes right up to (and indeed including) his time at McLaren GP. Like Schumacher, Hamilton is coming home to the Silver Arrows.

F1 » Schumacher’s F1 future unclear

Only an athlete of such immense past achievement could express such unequivocal disappointment. Any other F1 driver would have needed to try to paint a bright side to the story. A sad postscript to a glorious career on the face of it, but just watch Mercedes climb the ratings after such a skilled launch.
