F1 » Minardi disappointed with Maldonado penalty

@Kevin - "Appears to constitute intentional contact" - well yes, unless you understand that the turn of the wheel was intended to correct an unexpected rear-wheel slide. The reason he was penalised is that he went into the move too close to di Resta, too fast and/or with inadequate grip to cope with the slide, thus causing an accident. It was cock-up rather than conspiracy, and you're not supposed to **** up another driver's ride even unintentionally.

F1 » Minardi disappointed with Maldonado penalty

It wasn't black and white. Maldonado didn't intend to risk barging into the other car, but he misjudged the available grip and did hit it. It wasn't intentional, or even very aggressive, but it did fail to satisfy the criteria of the rules. There's no need to go over the top and censure him too. The judges would have done that themselves if they thought it appropriate. But Crash.net readers always love to throw the plastic brick at the TV. It's all the exercise some of us ever get.

F1 » Alonso believes rivals were quicker

Although Alonso does seem to be the cream of the crop and his winning drive was faultless, I am not sure I agree with him that the car is still lacking. I think it's equal to the Red Bull and McLaren and he is just sending a message to his team to keep pushing. It's not egotism either. He is an excellent motivator and never complains unnecessarily in public.

F1 » Button: Vettel would have got his chance

Interesting to see the great unregistered whiners coming out in force to spread laughable paranoia in such a clear case. They really expose their bias in this thread. Even Vettel admitted freely that he had passed Button off track, but the insane will always be with us and like to argue the toss till well after bedtime. I also love the argument that Hamilton was ignoring non-existent blue flags.
