F1 » Raikkonen's Lotus fails post-qualifying scrutineering

Sabotaged? I'd think that unlikely, but whether Lotus has the money to correct the problem with the car....sounds like something requiring a structural rework of the main chassis. Lotus may have figured, 3 races left, is it worth the effort on the chance it gets checked again? If they don't have the money to pay Kimi anything yet, they're clearly running on fumes and borrowed time.

F1 » Ecclestone to call time on New Jersey – again?

Only 3 motivations for Bernie to pursue a race in New Jersey-dollars, euros, and pounds sterling. N.J is the most corrupt state in the US, there are more billionaires in NYC than any other city, AND it gives him a lever to demand more $$$ from other prospective tracks/nations. I guess that's his job, for now. Hpw the German prison system will employ him, no idea. I doubt NJ F1 ever happens. A sideshow to bloat other more feasible events.

F1 » Ecclestone confirms no India in 2014

I don't see how they have a race in the first place. The World Superbike round is cancelled, too, because of "red tape and taxation issues". Which I have only recently seen explained by the excellent David Emmet at MotoMatters.com (all motorcycle based but relative vs. The Indian Gov't), "At the heart of the issue is the matter of how the Indian government views motorsport. For various reasons, motorsport - of both the two- and four-wheeled variety - is not regarded as a sport, and so any motorsports event is treated as if all of the equipment necessary is an ordinary import and export operation, with all of the bureaucracy that entails. For the World Superbike paddock, this means that all of the bikes would have to be entered at customs a month before the race was set to take place, that the customs procedures would have to be started three months ahead of the November 17th date, and that the teams would have to pay import duty over the value of their equipment, and then try to cl

F1 » Raikkonen linked with Ferrari return

Kimi put up with the Ferrari BS when he's in a better racecar at Lotus? Where they worship him? I think not. If there is a minor factor in Raikonnen's contract it's money. Competitive car #1. Team he likes, #2. Salary, a distant 3rd. Though I would love to hear him tell Luca and the bloated Ferrari managers to stuff it enroute to a win...

MotoGP » Bradl, Marquez talk Moto2 to MotoGP

Codger-"It helps if you are Spanish too" Bradl is Spanish?? And I am pretty sure, with the Cross of St. George on his helmet, that Smith is English. Marquez, well yes, he's technically from Spain, more likely Mars or Alpha Centauri. The Men in Black keep a close eye on him, I'm sure. 2014's likely MotoGP rookies are Redding and Espargaro. 50% Spanish, but with his hot-then-not "classic Spanish" season, Pol may be his own worst enemy. Redding, consistant, cool-headed, fast and well sized for a MotoGP bike is the certain one to make the step up.

MotoGP » Marquez laughs at street bike rumours

No doubt MM will be up front, he's proven he is scary fast, smart, AND calculating. He has his eye on the Championship, not just race wins. I'm happy to see my hero, Vale, embracing him as a real bonus to the sport Vale loves above all, MotoGP. But as they say in the US, the green flag drops and the BS stops. Rossi will give his all at Laguna to show he is the GOAT. Marquez can learn from 2nd, if Vale is on form. And I love to see laughing, joking, profanity-laced press conferences instead of stone-faced corporate reps regurgitating the company line with no joy of their involvement or achievement evident. Motorcycle racing is exciting, emotional, that's why we love it. The riders should show that.
