F1 » Kaltenborn: Sauber merger difficult

here4thesun2: In no order: 1) Mercedes 2) Red Bull 3) Ferrari 4) McLaren 5) Williams 6) Torro Rosso 7) Force India 8) Lotus 9) Marussia 10) Sauber 11) Caterham 4 on shaky ground. Solution: 1 merger. 1 bought by HAAS. 1 melts like a summer snowstorm Result: 3 cars for every team. MrF1 says: Exxcelent.
I don't get the maths there. Wouldn't that make 27 cars? F1 doesn't need or want that many.

F1 » Singapore Grand Prix - FP2 results

Amazing symmetry to that session. Aside from Alonso being further ahead than he should be owing to his brilliance, and Rosberg being further back than he should be owing to car issues, all the other team-mates are next to each other in matched pairs. Shows how all the drivers at this level are getting the absolute max from their respective cars.
