MotoGP » BT Sport reveals MotoGP TV line-up

ircsmith: too bad we cant watch MotoGP racing in America. I would love to get the BT coverage! Make it available for online streaming and I will buy it! but, alas, the single largest market for motorcycles does not have access to racing. Not that we really did when SPEED was covering the races. I rarely watched SPEED, they were dismal!
Technically we to have MotoGP, the problem however is the fact we get bottom feed/poor coverage e.g. MotoGP is nothing but a supplemental/filler program for FS1 bloated stick and ball programming schedule. If anything I really hope in the future that Dorna drops Fox and shop the broadcasting rights to either ESPN or NBC sports because they seem to be doing motorsports right. As an american motogp fan I like the programming direction BT seem to be taking when it come coverage especially with its post-race weekend program MotoGP Tonight. Clearly a model for how things ought to be done...hope FOX looking.

F1 » FIA to consider new team applications

Its a smooth sailing for Haas for 4 reasons: 1) attracting american corporate sponsors given the current conditions in europe 2) the desire to have a non-european team 3) to catch up with MotoGP in having americans on the grid in some way or form 4) grow the sport in the americas if you ask me personally I welcome the FIA efforts to grow the sport in the US, but to be realistic F1 is going to have to do and be something BIG if its going to compete against the likes of baseball, football and basketball..america sacred cows when it come to sports. Ontop of that the motorsports scene isn't doing all too good with falling attendence at NASCAR and Indycar races. To make things worst some broadcasters such as ESPN are cutting back on their contracts and some big name sponsors are pulling out of both. Overall if you ask me, F1 should be focusing more on asia and trying trying to get more drivers from the region on the grid.

F1 » Global TV audience ‘fell by 50 million’

Taz: There's more too it than just Vettel's dominance. The racing has become artificial and only 2-3 teams have a realistic chance of winning ever, it's become a two tier championship and pay drivers are having a bad effect on the sport, also also no consistency in the penalties handed out. Hopefully it's better this year but that will soon normalise. As long as they rely on aero so heavily nothing will change.
All of this is spot for the american numbers, sure NBC sports did a good job for their first year(hence why I hope they eventually pick WSBK) but I would believe it once the american media stop talking about schumacher's accident and the love of affair of Lewis and Nicole and spend more time talking about the sport itself. Until then its sad that the entire american motorsport scene seem to be in a state of decline...the ongoings in AMA, Nascar and Indycar demonstrates this,.

MotoGP » de Puniet 'crossing fingers' for Suzuki MotoGP wild-card

Interesting to hear that he would contend the Suzuka 8 Hour(no active motogp rider haven't taken part in years). If anything I wonder if his Suzuka 8 hour team would be the Yoshimura Suzuki Squad alongside Aoki. Speaking of the Suzuka 8 hour it would be awesome if Lorenzo took part in the future. My dream team alongside him being Nakasuga and Tommy Hill.
