F1 » Horner: Ferrari switch 'never' on agenda

Over the past 3 years RB has been a very successful F1 team going from nothing to something in almost overnight and Horner has been intergral that success. With that in mind it make alot sense for RB to do everything in their power to keep him on the team and I wouldn't be suprised if RB gave him a contract that rivaled the pay of Derek Jeter.

F1 » Mercedes accounts show spiralling cost of F1

@benignlyindifferent If you really want a good argument as to why F1 need a budget cap then look no further than the situation involving Toyota, Honda and Porsche. Toyota and Honda withdrew from F1 for one reason...they both deemed the sport too expensive of an investment to continue in. As for Porsche, their stated reason for not returning to F1 go right in hand with that of Honda and Toyota..F1 is too expensive and to be honest I don't give them any wrong. In the end just as how MotoGP got a dose of reality after Kawasaki, Aprilia, and Suzuki decided to exit the championship for cost reasons(hence the on-going push by Dorna for a budget limit), likewise F1 will face the same reality if things keep going the way they are. In fact we're already seeing the effects not just in teams withdrawing, but also in fact that pay drivers are becoming the new norm. &elijah The team(s) that spends the most alway be the ones that win the most. In the case of F1 its either Ferrari, Mclaren, or

A good reason as to why F1(and MotoGP)need a defined budget/spending cap and its a must in an uncertain economic climate and disappearing sponsorship. Sadly though when you have teams like Mclaren, Ferrari and RB who have essentially cartelized the sport there is just no way I could see a budget cap happening. In the end F1 really need to do something about the cost of competiting because the high budgets are not good for the sport as it essentially leads to small grids. If anything I would be disappointed if F1 were to go down the same road as MotoGP e.g. production bikes occupying the same grid as prototypes, in the case of F1 we see a indycar-type chassis occupying the same grid F1 chassis and all in an attempt to fill a disappearing grid.
