F1 » Klien: Talented drivers missing out

When you have a sport where teams like Ferrari, Mclaren and Red Bull are spending with impunity, it become necessary to have pay drivers, the end result is that talented drivers are shut of the game. Folks, this why a budget cap is needed in F1..it restrains and keep teams like Ferrari, Mclaren and Red Bull from having too much control of the sport and allow other teams to become competitive without having to rely on the money of pay drivers. Sadly though these big teams don't like the idea budget caps because they know it pose a challenge to their power.

F1 » Ecclestone responds to Melbourne criticism

While I respect Ecclestone as a businessman, to be honest the authorities do have a right to voice concern about the cost of hosting the race because its essentially taxpayer money being spent. To further add a day will come when taxpayers say enough is enough when it come to funding sporting events especially with the world technically still in a recession. If anything, this very much highlight why I don't like the idea of publically funded sporting events as there are tons of private/corporate dollars out there willing to pick up the tab. Look at NASCAR and Indycar for example when you have IZOD and Sprint technically bankrolling the championships. If anything this is the direction F1(and MotoGP) need to go.

MOTOGP » Hiroshi Aoyama injured in training accident

@Superscouser what make Aoyama such talented is the fact tha has proven himself, especially seeing how he was the 250cc World Champ, something which is rare feat for Japanese rider competing on the world stage. Sure that might be alot, but I'm quite sure if he had the level of support/invesment similiar to that D. Kato he could've been something in the Motogp class. In fact I see him as being the heir to Kato.

F1 » Kubica: Too early to think about my future

@**** ardo donkey you make a point that only Kubica knows the extent of his injury, but at the same time when you look at other cases of athletes/racers who have suffered injuries that put their careers in jeopardy its quite obvioius they came to the conclusion that thier injuries would either a)hamper their ability to be 100% competitive or b) put other competitors at risk because their injuries essenetially slowed them down. I point to the cases of Mick Dooohan, Kevin Schwantz and most recently John Toseland. I said earlier, it would be nice to have Kubica back, but when you look at the reality of the situation its quite obvious that the extent of his injury would make him uncompetitive in a single-seater especially since its more demanding than you typical vehicle.

F1 » Kubica: Too early to think about my future

Kubica returning to F1 would be like Gretzky returning to hockey as a player...it won't happen in the real world. I would be nice to have Robert back, however the way the injury was described one can infer that it was a career ending thing as oppose to career stalling. But to be honest, if I were in his shoes I would've just accepted my fate and accept the fact that the injury would never make me competitive again other than a reliability competition and safety wise.
