MotoGP » Jerez MotoGP - Saturday practice times

Hell, I'll be the first fan-boy to say it but if I was one of the original aliens and I saw Spies lap time for his 2nd hour on the track.... I'd be worried about 2011. And I do apologize for the fan-boy outburst but guys, come on. Two hours on track! This is a little ridiculous. I hope he does this well in qualifying. It's 3:15 am in L.A. and I will be staying up until 6am when QP is done to see it :) Good luck to Nicky, Ben, and ALL the riders :D

MotoGP » 'No worries' - Stoner shrugs off another fall

After Qatar I got to thinking that while Nicky seems to be flourishing with the new Duc, Casey is having issues understanding the new feeling of it. I first thought this based on Casey's description of the first accident, and the situation seems to mirror the Repsol Honda team's previous predicament where Dovi progressed and Pedrosa fell behind. Seeing this occur again worries me for Casey because he doesn't have it worked out yet but he seems to be optimistic and upbeat about solving it. Someone mentioned earlier that Casey appeared overly upset or pissed off, but from what I saw while watching it live was an engaged rider actively pursuing an understanding, not someone lost and confused.

MotoGP » Hayden: US expects, but top American not my goal

@hedge Are you watching the same sport I am? Nicky has had some poor seasons but I think he's not the only one. And I always thought that it was widely understood that not all riders adapted to the the 800cc machines right away. I personally believe that Nicky is coming to comfort with not only the Ducati but with the 800cc machines now as well. As for Rawdawg, I've never seen him sling barbs and insults towards anyone for who they were a fan of. I've seen him defend his favorites in a respectful and enthusiastic manner, while never belittling the competition. It does appear that most of the conflict on this board comes from fans who can't even spell or put a proper sentence together.

MotoGP » Rossi suffers motocross scare

@Dray Dude, are you forgetting Brno and Phillip Island when you say that Rossi couldn't "get" to Zo? Don't get me wrong I agree that Lorenzo poses the biggest threat but the dude definitely caved in to the pressure especially when it was the most crucial time to not be affected. I also think he has matured for this season and we won't see pressure affect him like last season but, let's be a little realistic here instead of labeling them silly little crashes.

MotoGP » Stoner apologises for Qatar crash

@Morgue That's funny what you wrote about Casey because I totally thought the same thing about Lorenzo after his Brno crash. When the chips are down and the world has turned away then he rises, but when the pressure was on the line at Brno and Phillip Island, he binned it. This season is different tho, you can already tell he's learned from last season and matured a lot. I think he will again be the main pretender to the thrown this year but much more deadlier than last. Crap, he's already only five points down on Rossi and going to a track he hauled ass at last year. Rossi will need to be in perfect form this season because Gorgeous George means business.

MotoGP » Ben Spies delivers with fighting fifth

@ End of ?? Ummm yea dude. I wouldn't think top speeds and lap times are an accurate indication of whether Spies is on a factory bike. All riders have a different style of riding and gearing plays a big part in that. Some may set up their bikes for more power in the corners at the expense of top speed or vice versa to either enhance their style of compensate for flaws. And I'm sure there are a ton of other factors as already mentioned, and let's not forget talent too.

MotoGP » Ben Spies delivers with fighting fifth

@KTM If you watch the interview he says that he was just trying to stick with him and hope that Lorenzo would carry him up to the group but he made a few mistakes with 3 laps to go that dropped off his pace and then just sat tight for the rest of it to not bin it. What's also awesome was that I had no idea that they had their splits and lap times in their dashboard. I wonder what other gadgets they have in there?
