F1 » Vettel, RBR to discuss ignored orders

I am about as far as you can get from being a Seb fan... However a true racing driver will drive the car to the line even if it is on fire, and so it should be. The middle finger thing in the race is also heat of the moment stuff. No big deal. The problem that I have is with calling your fellow competitors "cucumbers" and "idiots" in press conferences after the race. This is very unprofessional and uncool.

F1 » Perez 'full commitment' to Sauber

The way I see it is Fernando lucked a win. Great drive I must say in conditions where anybody on a good strategy with a lot of luck could win. This has taken the tifosi pressure off SD and Ferrari for a few weeks. As long as the spotlight stays on Massa then he is the target for all of the bad press. Once Massa is replaced then SD becomes the target if the car still does not perform. This is why I think they will keep Massa until they feel the car is better. No conspiracy theory here just plain old politics. SD and FDM will be the heros when this is all done. Watch this space !!!

F1 » Perez 'full commitment' to Sauber

DTN, I am South African so have no patriotic alligience to anyone at this stage. I just love racing and want to see an F1 where b@lls to the wall pure racing wins. No gimmicks like DRS and crumbly tyres that turn my beloved sport into a tyre preservation endurance facade. I want refuelling and unlimited tyres so that I can see aggressive, 'take the car by the scruff of the neck' racing. I don't know what it is this year but I am happy to see the more aggressive racer in each team appearing to come out on top. Long may it continue.

F1 » Perez 'full commitment' to Sauber

DTN, You are correct in what you say. My fear is that if Perez was to get into the Ferrari for the next race he may not be any better than Massa. This could destroy him. I would pre sign him for next year and put someone like Sutil or Algy in the car for the rest of this year. They have less to lose. Fact is Massa needs to go now as he has either lost his nerve or motivation and is just wasting time in the sport. Having said that though, Massa's lack of performance and Alonso's over performance is shading how bad that red car is, so politically they may want to keep an under performing Massa until they sort the car out.

F1 » Perez 'full commitment' to Sauber

If Perez goes Red now then this could be fatal for his career. He is a good youngster but not good enough to perform in a bucket of bent bolts. If Alonso is your benchmark then you had better be damn good and Perez or the car is not there yet. Better to shine at Sauber for a season or two. In the long run even if he is average Perez will do very well with a friend named Carlos Slim.

F1 » Managing tyres key to Sepang success

The golden rule here is to be on the right tyre for the conditions and then you need a lot of luck. If the safety car or the red flag had come out as soon as Perez pitted then he would have been stone last. ... The thing is with these conditions it is pot luck, you just need to make the move first onto the correct tyre and hope for the best which is what Sauber did.

F1 » Grosjean suffers with another early knockout

RG is very quick. He just needs to learn that the race isn't won or lost in the first corner or first couple of laps. ( or maybe in F1 it is :-) )... You need to keep your nose clean and remain handy and make your overtaking moves in the pits. Sure he has a few small things, like car preservation, to work out but once he gets this sorted he will be lightning.

F1 » Mercedes baffled by poor race performance

Agree with Manxie, Ross Brawn and his team have lost the plot with strategy completely. If you are running 16th on a drying track surely you need to gamble and get onto slicks first. Or when Schumi was spun around on the very wet track they should have gone to full wets first. You can't wait and see what everybody else does when you are running near last. Also this car is pathetic , it can't seem to do more than 3 laps on any of the tyres before it kills them. Come on Merc GP focus on race pace and forget about the gimmicks that make you look good in quali !!!
