MOTOGP » French MotoGP, Le Mans - Race Results

Great day of racing. The Dovi/Dani battle was something special while it was seriously wet. Cal deserves a factory ride. Period. Great saves by Marc and Nick. Hopefully Mugello will see 5 Ducati's entered. Pirro is doing a sterling job on the developement front. Poor old Randy. In the gravel again at home. Cal deserves a factory ride next year. Period.

MOTOGP » Lorenzo: Keep calm and think about the championship

Clearly the favourite for the race and the title. As for his critics and his attitude, give it up. A great friend of King Kenny and Wayne Rainey.Tough as nails. Iron fist in the velvet glove. Personally,I hope he wins emphatically enough to be so ectstatic that he takes a swim after the race again. Tell you what,if he wins this one,the 2013 title is as good as done and dusted, barring injury.

MOTOGP » Marquez: 'Feet on the ground' for home debut

Within his Jerez record lies the rub. Marc is of similar stature to his predecessor, rides much the same way and has found Jerez to be one his bogey tracks. He is under no illusions of grandeur. I pick him to follow Dani's every move this weekend and learn, learn learn. I cannot see him beating Dani this time around barring misfortune or the heavens opening up on Sunday. No doubt he's aware of it and won't risk anything. Its a long season.

MOTOGP » Valentino Rossi: We can be very fast at Jerez

Pre-event expectations favour Yamaha first and George,Dani and Valentino secondly in no particular order. Of course Marc will be up there, but a yard or so off the other three over race distance I expect. Why?. COTA was an entirely different kettle of to Jerez. The old guard know Jerez on a GP prototype and will carry that through the weekend. Marc's best chance is a Qatar like podium on paper right now. Mind you he is full of surprises. I would not mind at all seeing another one.

WSBK » WSBK Assen: Checa won’t back down from Ducati challenge

Three races in and losing the restrictors is no longer an option. That is of course if the FIM and the fans wish to see twins compete against 4's on any given Sunday. Next round is Monza. Personally I couldn't be bothered. Keep the rules as they are and Ducati may as well pull out. The ballast needs to be junked as well. Race of the day was Superstock 1000 anyway.

WSBK » WSBK Aragon 2013: Laverty pips Davies in Q1

The backfired trick and the Panigale. With all the mass and restrictor penalties,Ducati went 'supersquare' to achieve swept volume and maxRPM. Correct in theory, but its hurt them both ways. A twin cannot max swept volume like any 4 and the super short stroke robs the bike of the the bottom end initial grunt off the corner. No doubt the supersquare twin is an amazing piece of tackle on the road. In that realm it has the best of everything. At the cutting edge on the SBK race track it is seriously compromised. Compromise is what the Panigale is at this level and its showing.

MOTOGP » Hayden, Spies sample COTA on Panigales

Colin and Jonathan Green were cruising around on R6's I believe. No harm in learning a thing or two about the circuit on Panigalle's or Go-Moto scooter's,even a bicycle at that rate. What's important is that the Ducati (American) boys will arrive in Austin with some track knowledge under their belts. Smart move by Gobmeier to not waste effort and $$$ going to Austin for the GP test alongside HRC and Yamaha. Good to see they commited to giving their riders a little track experience prior to the event.

MOTOGP » Marquez: Qatar level clearer at Austin and Jerez

No doubt about it. Ducati were invited and HRC/Yamaha hoped they would. AUDI/VW aborted the proposal because of the cost. Maybe its time to stop laying blame at Ducati's doorstep. VW call the shots and I don't think they give two hoots about MGP. As long as the Ducati brand's exclusivity punts sales into the stratosphere stateside, this trend will continue. I guess Preziosi saw this comming and Gobmeier now sits with the poisoned challis. More support will go in SBK's direction from now on from VW. The original D16 GP project is destined to die a natural death. Lets face it. How many VW's and Audi's are sold daily vs GP derived L-4 Desmo Ducati's. Strictly business. Anyway this was about Marquez on the L-4 HRC bike. His take on Jerez and Austin testing is telling. He sure is a realist. 9 days at Sepang is not representative. He's got his head screwed on right. Should he remain top 3 over the next couple of tests the 2013 championship is a definite 'go' for him. Like it.
