MotoGP » Rossi: Marquez made a mistake

Yet another race that proved to me that I have been following the most exciting form of motor sport for the last 40 years. O.K. there are some years and races that are not as exciting, and you have run away victories, that happens. But to witness races like this, far outweighs the boring ones. There are to many remarkable races to mention over all those years, but in the last 15 years, the ones to remember usually involve a certain Valentino Rossi. Glad to still be witnessing THE DOCTOR still winning after all these years. Still smiling and it's been over 24hrs. Go Rossi.

Mal x cont, where there was no room, causing Rossi to go wide after contact. Rossi then had to move over to the right to line up for the left. MM came up next to Rossi and tipped it in while Rossi was still there, causing MM to loose the front and crash. MM could have bagged 2nd and 20 points, instead ended up with nothing. Wanted to play with the "TOP DOG" and end up a tamed puppy. Judging by the Agree, Disagree, to your post, mostly everyone else thinks your off the mark with your comment as well. GO Rossi.

therealDave:
paisan: goto youtube nd watchit from over head view even the first bump in this view looks like val cam back into marc and on the second contact val knew exactly where marc was and cuts him off. fair play though, thats racing , marc was maybe too close to rossi and you cant be pushy from behind. marc understands what was done to him and this should make future battles very interesting as neither guy is scared of a little rubbing
Sorry, but that's simply silly.....from track day junkie to club level racing, it is up to the person attempting the pass to make it safe!!!!! MM attempted the first pass and they touched, MM attempted the second pass and they touched. It cannot be itterated enough....the person making the pass is responsible for doing so safely. There was no touch on VR initial pass now, was there!!!!!! Let your hatred for VR go and look at the facts.....
You are 100% wrong buddy for reasons that Dave has exp

Codger: Before the race Marc was setting 38s. He tried both tyre choices and felt that he could race on either. Obviously he could as it turns out but he couldn't know that Rossi would be breaking the lap record on his 20th lap. Realist,..... Rossi always finds a bit extra on race day, not always obvious how they do it. Crash.....Where is your moderator ? I don't think people should be saying that one rider takes out another on purpose. It doesn't matter whether they are right or wrong, they shouldn't be saying it.
Hey Codger, how good is Dovi going aye. Really impressive, but we already knew how good he can be with the right equipment. In answer to your 2nd paragraph I would like to add that the reason is, he never shows his full hand until race day. Always has something left that others don't know about IMHO. Cheers. Go Rossi.

MotoGP » Marquez: Rossi is still my idol

Humpydog: When the kid gets older he will learn to settle for points instead of the move he tried. The way Rossi was reeling him in he knew if he caught him he was done. Instead of losing a handful of points he lost a bucket full.
Agree. It was a truly amazing end, that proved MM is a racer first, and tactician 2nd. The story however would have been different had he bought Rossi down. One can only ponder what peoples opinion about MM would have been then. Not to favourable I am guessing. Great race.

Mal X: Just watched the Rossi pass in Slow motion and pictures tell a thousand words. This is just another pass by the untouchable one. tire choice was right but he intentional flicked his bike into to MM line. As race direction ruled it was legitimate, but shows very poor skill on his behalf as he had the pace not to have reported to this tactics. Don't believe me then re-watch and see him flick the bike into MM's line. MM should have known, as this is Rossi's MO along with delayed (to push the other guy wide) power out of the corner after a hard braking corner entry pass. Old dog resort to tricks and young dogs need to learn about Dogs. Great race though, and great shame for Suzuki..
From lap 10 onwards, MM was getting pit board signals Rossi was closing the 4 sec gap. He had 8 laps to deal with what to do when Rossi passes him. He took the wrong option to attack Rossi, after Rossi passed him for the 2nd time. When he did, he drove it underneath Rossi w
