F1 » Massa: I don’t understand why I got the penalty

I suspect the stewards awarded Massa the penalty this time as while its debatable who was at fault in F1 while you can sometimes pass with DRS/Kers, sometimes you have to try make passes on brakes and there seems to be a situation developing these days where on passes on inside are always defended by cutting the other driver attempting the pass off. Of course this leads to collisions were in days gone by drivers would have left the room and attempted to get the better drive off the corner. Once you have a wheel or even nose alongside then then the other driver should be seen to leave room but of course they can compromise the passing drivers ideal line by only giving them what they need to avoid a collision ie Massa would have had the wide line out of the corner if after the apex they'd still been alongside each other.

MotoGP » Dani Pedrosa: I don’t deserve this

Dani opted to try retake the place Simo had taken safely the corner before by dragging with Simo down the inside to 'that' corner then braking at a similar point. Hands up who knows which line round the corner allows for later braking and faster apex? Feel sorry for Dani but if he hadn't stood his bike up he'd probably have made the corner (lost a place maybe) but still made the rostrum.

MotoGP » What Stoner said to Rossi after Jerez crash...

@Kick **** CASEY How can his time be over when he's the only one capable of bringing a bike up the field from 12th to 3rd? No one else manages that I can remember but Rossi does this sort of progression up the field fairly regularly. Sure I feel sorry for Stoner as while being a Rossi fan I'm not overly confident they'll get the bike working well enough this season so hoped he'd at least be there with JL in the points table. In Stoners defence at his crash history, its not often he falls off while trying to take a place cos he's either leading at the time and under no pressure or on the warmup lap

MotoGP » What Stoner said to Rossi after Jerez crash...

Many Stoner sympathiser (and I'm one) seem to think you can win a race by not passing anyone. Rossi probably made twice as many passes in the race than the rest of the field put together and yes he messed up, but picked his bike up and got on with it. From the looks of what I saw Casey didn't seem to put much effort into encouraging the marshells to help him and seemed to walk away from his bike within a few seconds. Anyway, the latest is Rossi wasn't trying to pass at that point and had outbraked himself but was left with no opportunity to take a wider line.
