MotoGP » How long for Ben Spies to win again?

"Indy and Laguna are obvious venues for a potential repeat win." - originally posted by Don-R I would have thought that also, but I've heard a couple interviews from Ben mentioning how Indy, Laguna, and Sachsenring will favor the Honda most. He also said that Silverstone, Assen, and Mugello will be better tracks for the Yamaha. He said that the M1 problem is not top speed, rather it's more coming out of the corners in 1st or 2nd. 3rd and greater work fine. As long as he and Lorenzo can come onto the straight in 3rd at Mugello it should work fine there.

MotoGP » Ben Spies: As good as it gets

"Spies was pulling a lead before Simoncelli took Lorenzo out." - originally posted by factsisfacts I noticed that too. He had a four bike gap on Lorenzo going into the first left hander. The only person that could better his pace in the dry all weekend was Simoncelli and he wrecked on his own. In the new digital issue of cyclenews there's a funny quote from Rossi stating that he thought Marco took out Ben and Lorenzo was the Yamaha in the lead.

MotoGP » Spies: A privilege to race at Assen

"but there's no wall anymore in Yamaha or is there left one?" Yamaha said before the season started that the physical wall will stay, but Lorenzo and Spies still share info. "The trademark of dragging elbows literally means you slow yourself down. Just look at Stoner,s and other top 3 guys body form. I dont think they drag much" The nickname Elbowz is a product of Ben Sticking his elbows up high when entering or leaving a corner, not because he drags them. Stoner probably drags his elbows the most and he comes within inches of getting his shoulder on the ground.

MotoGP » Texas secures MotoGP round for 2013

It looks like Indy and Laguna have issued press releases regarding this story. Both seem to want to keep MotoGP going at their tracks. When I first read the story I thought Indy would get dropped, especially because they only signed a 1 year extension last year. Now I'm starting to believe there could actually be 3 MotoGP races in the US in the same year. And I love the new Austin track design. 44 yards of elevation is a plus.
