MotoGP » Yamaha confirm Valentino Rossi’s return

@mack the knife Ducati hardly had a glittering mgp history before rossi got there (1 title and scatterings of wins and whats SBK got to do with it?), granted VR hasnt taken ducati any where but the amount of career casualty's on ducatis mgp cv is hard to ignore, 9x word champ or not. I find it hard to accept this is a great factory as far as prototype racing is concerned.

MotoGP » POLL: Who should replace Rossi at Ducati?

capirossi did before stoner, maybe not the same amount of wins granted. stoner won plenty of races on it but after 07 never got it to another title. Not slagging him of for that, i think he did the right thing to leave ducati cos he wanted better, i just dont understand why so many people think he could go back and sort the bike out when it was a turd when he was on it from 08-10, albeit not his doing.

"I'd love to see him come back to Ducati and win some races on the 'unrideable' bike" and he probably would win some, but then bin it loads too, just like 08,09 & 10 which is probably why he left ducati in the first place. Perhaps not so much "unrideable" as more "not a championship competitive bike" why do so many people think winning a few races proves so much if it does not win you a title.

"He'd better hope Audi makes a difference though" hmmmm.... good point, lots of folk here have been saying now audi have come along it will fit everything but I doubt they bought ducati so that they could save their motogp project, if it were my money i would give them a season or two to show progress or pull the project, I doubt very much that they want to throw good money after bad.

@carlos "all i want to see is not the same riders racing at the front for the podium." great point simply made. if you push aside all the trolling and blind favouritism that plagues this forum, most real mgp fans only want this. we all have our preferences to riders and grudges to others but at then end of it all some of us just want to see the best man win a race and not the most commercially attractive asset walk away with it every time.
