MotoGP » German MotoGP - Race Results

I would hold off on the anti-Rossi comments until Jorge beats him every week. Rossi has had 3 bad results now, a couple were not his own fault, and is giving the second Honda a run for it's money. The Rossi of the past is still there (I don't mean the Ducati one :) ) and when the bike is how he wants it, and he has a sniff of a win, Marc will find out what the old Rossi riding is all about. I'm fully aware that day may never come but, at the moment, the 'cautious' rider is good enough for a strong 3rd place in the Championship.

MotoGP » Redding 3.5s from Bautista

The article says it all. The sooner he gets a quicker bike the better. 14kmh down on the Factory Hondas is a bit much for him to show what he can do, especially for a rider his size and weight. Very short straight too, so he is well down on acceleration as well. Give him Bradley's bike and Pol would have something to worry about.

MotoGP » Marquez: Strategy was to copy Dani and Valentino

Brian.....I've already explained why. Can we agree to differ ? You are basing your opinion on Casey's 2 good years, while I base my opinion on his 4 not so good years. An unbiased opinion shows that some days he was the fastest on the track, other days he wasn't. The same could be said for all the top four. Stoner says that he retired because he no longer enjoyed racing, and didn't like the way that MotoGP was going. Fair enough, although it could be said that he called it a day because he didn't get the credit that his skills deserved (he didn't). It could also be said that he was 'burnt out'. He should not come back because he would not win, and I don't want to see his career tarnished.

MotoGP » Five falls but Smith ‘fast and didn't give up’

Tomco.....I have admiration for their achievements, just couldn't see it transferring to MotoGP. Redding I see as different. He is finishing well in the points every race, except one, very consistent. My belief is that if he had Pol's bike he would be finishing as high, or higher, than Pol. It's a little early to think about the Lowes brothers imo. Good as they might be, I can't see them setting the World on fire either given Scott's bike. I hope you are wrong about Redding.......and I am wrong on the Lowes bros.

I still say that Stoner's Honda Title was better. Us punters, the media, and probably Ducati had written Casey off at the time he jumped off of the Ducati. None, of us, including his fans, really understood what a dog that bike had become and Casey shot himself in the foot by sticking with them so long. He, himself was pretty low in spirit and yet he picked himself up and came out all guns blazing on the Honda and won the Title riding one handed ( the other one was holding two fingers up to all his detractors.) Say what you like about the 2007 bike, it suited Stoner otherwise he couldn't have won so many races on it. (the acceleration down the straights aided him in that). However the Honda wins were all down to him, the bike wasn't as superior to the others as perhaps they are now.
