MOTOGP » Austin MotoGP: Rossi 'Hondas are very fast, big difference'

Honda have 2 of the smallest, lightest riders on the grid, so it will be difficult for anyone else to get the 'holeshot'. There is already an appeal to the riders to take it steady through turn one, so let's hope everyone stays safe. I hate this modern racing where Qually and the start dictates the possible outcome. I made a suggestion some time ago that grid position be decided on performances in practice. It's a shame that it has come in only to say who goes in to the 'shoot out'. Some riders can put in a quick lap early, some need longer.

MOTOGP » Austin MotoGP: Rossi set to go second on-time start list

Hello Slide..good to see you back. I'm sure that if Rossi had risked everything to win on the Ducati he would have a lot better stats, a long way short of Casey's though. The Ducati will not move forward until the Engine has different crankcases so that it can be moved around in the frame. Ducati's words not mine. Rossi & JB proved in his first year that the bike could not be competitive unless this happened, they chose to ignore him. Also the engine is too fierce off the corner. Stoner used this to steer with the rear until the 'improvements' in electronics stopped him. (which is why he turned them down) Stoner over rode the bike to get results but the bike went backwards while he was doing that. No wonder he left them. Rossi had the sense not to push unless he could see a decent return, hence thrashing Casey in the wet race in France.

@ TrueFan....not referring to anyone, only in general. Ago's achievements cannot be taken away from him, but unless they bring back the 350cc class (which I see no need to) then it's not really relevant. Great TT rider too, but then they had to compete there because it was part of the Championship. As soon as they took it out, they all stopped going there. Why are there 2 TrueFans ?

@ Truefan....Ago was a great rider, it wasn't his fault that his competitors didn't have access to machinery good enough to challenge him. Not only did he appear in GPs and the TT, he also turned up for International races. In England I was fortunate enough to watch him at Brands Hatch, Mallory park, and Silverstone in non GP events. Imagine Rossi, or any of the others turning out for a BSB race.
