MotoGP » Valentino Rossi lashes out after Qatar nightmare

It is sad that the Ducati has lost it's uniqueness apparently to no purpose. The pre alloy frame bikes were elegant in design concept, linked to Ducati's new Panigale and different from all other GP bikes due to their cf stressed airbox subframe and greater use of the engine as a stressed member. Now we have only the 90 degree engine (under threat?) and the desmo left. Sad and still surprising to see a legend (and his team) lost and apparently powerless to rectify Ducati's position.

MotoGP » Hayden third on opening night, Rossi stays 'hard'

The task for the riders in qulaifying is two fold, to get a setup that will do the race and another that is fast enough to get a decent place on the grid. Many of Rossi's problems last year came from his lack of speed in qualifying putting him in grid positions where he had to race with the satellite bikes and the slower works bikes. He has come from the rear before but not on a cumbersome bike without clear advantages for him. By the looks of the speed trap figures the Ducati's are still fast bikes though.

MotoGP » Jerez MotoGP test times - Sunday (Final)

At the back end of the field Ellison's times are disappointing. The only bikes behind him are the FTR Kwaks while Ellison is on an Aprilia ART -presumably similar to RdP's and supposedly the class bike being used by CRT teams? . Maybe Ellison's 3 wins from 65 starts in BSB aren't the best leadup for promotion to MotoGP or am I missing something about his team and level of support?

MotoGP » Opening day at Aragon a blow out

I am sure that the CRT teams want to get on track badly so conditions must have been unsuitable. There are comments on other sites that the Bridgestone technicians were involved in the decision implying that those with actual knowledge of the conditions and the suitability of the spec tyres to cope with them didn't consider that it was safe or useful to test.
