F1 » VIDEO: The Monaco GP in Numbers

My goodness, the most boring race in a series which is so boring you can't watch it without falling asleep. I guess it's OK for the rich pokes in Monaco who can sit on their balconies and have a Martini while soaking up the atmosphere but rest assured, there ain't gonna be any racing. Let me just take this opportunity to congratulate Mercedes on their win.

WSBK » Lowes raring to go at home round

Alex is clearly a very talented and super fast rider but this Suzuki ride is really not what he needs, it'll damage his confidence and reputation. I'm not sure what the answer is this season but if I were his manager I'd be looking for some way into Moto2 for next year. I really hopes he gets a decent result on Sunday but that bike is like a millstone around his neck and it's horrible to see this happen to such a bright hope of British racing.

MotoGP » Cal Crutchlow: Braking the Honda

For me it's interesting as to where Cal stands in the ranking of world riders. If I were the Repsol team manager looking for a rider the first 3 I'd contact would be MM, VR and then JL, but then who? DP?, AD?, CC? I think that at his current level of performance Cal might actually be somewhere in the top 4 and would outperform DP. Either way it's great to have a genuine contender who is British rather than an also ran. Is Cal now an 'alien'?

MotoGP » Female Malaysian Fifi seeks Moto3 wild-card

@VKal - I would love Fifi to do well and don't underestimate the resolve of any racer who has made it onto any grid but the competition in Moto3 isn't just stiff, it's almost psychotic and this is backed up by the fact the many of the riders are amongst the most able in the world. If she's 2 seconds off the pace she'll be nowhere. She'll be shocked by the hardness of the passes she'll be subjected to and the lack of respect shown. Also, much as I like and respect Jenny Tinmouth, at the moment going from her underfunded and run on a shoestring Honda to a factory one hasn't improved her position so much so at the moment I'm less than impressed. The only female rider I saw genuine speed from was Cat Green but unfortunately by the time she got a decent bike it was too late.

MotoGP » Female Malaysian Fifi seeks Moto3 wild-card

I'm not sure why there aren't more women riders but both Jenny Tinmouth and Alex Lowes referred to a certain desperation to win which female riders so far haven't had. Perhaps putting your life on the line for something as abstract as a race win isn't in a female's nature? When I was very young I dreamt of motorbikes and spent much of my youth hanging around them and this came from a seemingly innate love of IC engines. I wonder whether women have this. I'm actually pro women riders but I think they have to earn the ride on merit. Giving token rides to women for the sake of it only damages their cause. If Fifi does take part in a Moto3 race I think she will be totally shocked by the skill and commitment level and will be lucky to come last. Not trying to belittle her but that will probably be the way it is - nobody will be happier than me if she makes me eat my words though.
