MotoGP » Smith talks 2016 Yamaha, 2017 factory seats

Bradley has improved every year racing in MotoGP and that often despite running less up to date equipment than his team mate. Make no mistake, he's going to have to improve again next year to have any kind of chance of a factory ride, but given his previous trajectory it's possible. For next year it would have to be the kind of thing that Cal and Dovi did on the Tech3 or more but I think Bradley knows that. People who slate him for not having won a WC forget what he did on the Moto2 Tech3 Mistral which was pretty heroic. The paddock is knowledgeable when assessing riders and tends to make well judged allowances for equipment - you can see this at the moment with Sam Lowes.

MotoGP » Restarted race ‘toughest of year’ for Kent

I think it's important to remember that BT is BRITISH Telecom and they will therefore always emphasise the British rider - I'm pleased they do it because I'm British too and a big fan of DK and SL. If it were Swiss Telecom, I'm sure we'd hear a lot more about TL and DA. Apart from that though, British or not, DK is performing at an incredible level and it's particularly impressive because he's coming back from a hard time in Moto2 and also that it's happening in untra competitive Moto3. SL might also be performing at Zarco's level if he had a Kalex, who knows, but either way he's really impressing because of his ultimate pace, how he compares with the other Speed up riders and also how entertaining and aggressive his riding is. Even if it weren't a British broadcaster I think there would still be good reason to talk about these 2 riders.

MotoGP » Laverty out 'to set record straight' at Silverstone

The problem with MotoGP is that if you aren't on a factory bike you can't really get a good impression of how good a rider is. The other bikes just vary too much in terms of speed, crew and financial support to make a useful judgement about the other factor which is the ability of the rider. I believe that EL is a quality rider and I really felt that his style would suit MotoGP but he hasn't really impressed on the customer Honda. I always felt that the Yamaha would fit more with the way he rode.

MotoGP » Lowes bolstered by ‘solid’ Brno showing

For me SL at Brno was one of the rides of the day, great agression and spirit. I believe the rumour is a possible Aprilia ride for next season and given the fact that all good factory seats are locked out this could be the best seat available in MotoGP. You never know Aprilia might actually pull their finger out and produce a proper MotoGP bike rather than the return of the Cube.
