MotoGP » Dominique Aegerter - Q&A

@biaggi - I just think there are different ways of doing things, Dominique has improved consistently year on year and this win wasn't a fluke it was in the dry and won fairly against a field that included Maverick Vinales and Eteve Rabat riding without injury or problems. Given his progress I'm expecting more wins from Dominique and then some kind of entry into MotoGP. He's still on an upward trajectory and we just need to find out how far he'll go.

MotoGP » Jack Miller tipped for the top

I think he's pretty charismatic and really shows his emotions which is rare and highly welcome nowadays but we've only had one season of decent results from him. Both A Marquez and Fenati have impressed me about as much. His results before this year were not as impressive and I think there's too much potentially damaging hype surrounding him. A move directly to MotoGP might either feed into his sky high confidence and bring him on or he might have it crushed by racing a dog like the Ducati, production Honda or CRT. Either way it would be interesting to see how a rider performs coming directly from Moto3 and could establish a new pathway to the top class

MotoGP » Home MotoGP title not a target for Marquez

It's hard to know if MM winning in this way is bad for the show or good, the only question now is how many races he can win in a row because, lets face it, he's already won the championship. Luckily most of the races have been pretty good so far but for me the main show has been in Moto3. I do feel that MM's performance has been slightly flattered by always having the best equipment and rock solid sponsorship so It'll be interesting to see how MM stacks up against the all time greats in the end because he's certainly a phenomenon.

BSB » Brookes to quit BSB after 2014?

@LLarry, I disagree with you there I reckon that Shakey, Josh and James E are definitely world class, they just need the right equipment. When Shakey was there before his bike was totally different to CC's so he could never show what he could do. For me the big problem with BSB is that it desperately needs new exciting young riders, the days of Cal, Tom S, Jonathan Rea and Leon C and H are a distant memory, The only riders that I can see coming though at the moment are Luke Hedger and Andy Reid, but they need to come through faster.

MotoGP » Stefan Bradl: Right tyres, 'wrong' bike

@Nick636 I'm sure that Gigi is a very competent race manager but he isn't the magician that many people make him out to be, I hear that the new motor will have a similar v angle to the current one (bad) but will be less tall in the cylinder head (good) and maybe hydraulic valves (?)but either way with new Ducatis I judge them by how the do rather than what people say they'll do. Experience dictates that the new Duc won't be some kind of revolutionary breath of fresh air, it'll at best be a slight improvement one they've got all the settings worked out. I think Ducati would be far better off looking for radical riders in Moto2 and Moto3 to see if they can find one who fits with the bike rather than trying to hire existing successful MotoGP riders who have already established their style. Lets face it, they wouldn't do much worse and it'd be cheaper. I'd go fo Vinales and Miller myself.

MotoGP » Stefan Bradl: Right tyres, 'wrong' bike

@Nick636 I think that Cal's problem is that he worked very hard to adapt his style to what he sees as a correct JL-like one which suited the Yamaha (and could also work on the Honda) and he doesn't want to change a hard won style that brought him some top level results. He's also either banking on the 2015 bike being very different to the current one or he may be thinking in terms of another team, either way I think he's mentally treading water. As the team resources gather around Dovi and Andrea's results get better, that'll only get worse. Casey famously rode around problems whereas Vale wanted the bike changed to his (very successful) style and it's clear which was the better strategy. I think Cal's attitude is more like Vale's.
