BSB » Anthony West secures BSB seat


BSB is forming up nicely! But Westy's going to have his work cut out - on a BMW on tight tracks he doesn't know. As far as I can see he needs to be on a 2 year plan, first year getting good results despite his circumstances, second year using these results to get a ride with a top team and going for the championship. I'm looking forward to BSB more than the other championships.

WSBK » Fastest Checa overcomes illness, extra 6kg


I'm a little worried here, nothing against Checa, but if he's getting these times ill and with extra weight it doesn't bode well for the season. If he's got more in hand he would also sandbagging to avoid extra weight. You get the feeling that they have only fielded a second bike so that they can show how slow that one is in case they want to put on some extra handicap weight mid season.

WSBK » Josh Brookes to substitute for John Hopkins


@MST75 - What's going on? Josh Brookes is a class international level rider. If he can take part in the WSBK tests beforehand he stands as much chance as any other rider on the grid. If he beats Leon Camier he'll have done well and I don't see why he shouldn't. Josh Brookes rides hard and fair to win and that's the kind of rider I like.

WSBK » Sykes, Checa top Phillip Island test timesheets


These tests look like quite a good benchmark given that only Castrol Honda is missing from the top teams. Tom Sykes has always been fast over a single lap, but his problem is race management and tyre wear - they should work on that rather than looking for a hot lap time. Not good conditions, but it's good to see Norge and the 2 BMW's up there. Hopefully the rest of the test will have better conditions so that we get a better indication.
