WSBK » Jonathan Rea - Q&A

"But I believe that in the future Dorna will take SBK to the next level in terms of entertainment and value for sponsors, fans, teams and riders. " Wow... Ok Johnny. I like the guy a lot, watching him enter the mine shaft at Kyalami was a sight to behold, but that is some serious Dorna-@ss-kissing going on right there. @shakennstirred Sadly I agree. He pegged all his hopes on Honda moving him up, winning him a WSBK title first, but their commitment has not matched Johnny's and I feel it is now too late for him. Pity...

WSBK » Bimota announces Alstare-run WSBK EVO entry

Yes, the EVO class has drawn attention from new manufacturers (returning manufacturers as well), but as with Open Class/CRT/dumbed down machines, aren't people upset that they'll never see lap records broken once these rules become law? That, in my opinion, is half the fun of racing. When someone is not only thrashing the field, but scything records from years past, that is a big part of it. Take F1 for example, how many old records stand because the cars are actually slower now. Gehard Berger has a point...

MotoGP » Ducati switching to Open Class for MotoGP 2014?

Wow... Cal WILL (or SHOULD) not be happy with this. Sacrificing a bit to get a FACTORY ride, ending up with a dog in, effectively, the second tier. That's called getting scr3w3d! Also, why are they assessing what Hernandez did, when Hernandez was riding the old bike and they promising a radical redesign?! Does this mean more "tweaks" to a seriously flawed package? Poor Cal and Dovi, two riders that deserve better, getting the same runaround Casey got for years.

MotoGP » Ducati switching to Open Class for MotoGP 2014?

@ shpongled First off, as previously stated, Cal had VERY little option. Smith has a 2 year deal, Yamaha were adamant they wanted Espargaro. What would you have done? Secondly, are you saying you expect honda to supply a bike that will have the same performance as their factory bike, except their customers (and competition) would have more fuel and engines and a softer tyre than their factory bikes?!?! Yeah, that makes great sense. Casey already proved that bike can be super fast, only 0.3 seconds slower than the factory bike on race rubber! (or was it with the softer option?) Either way, that's NOT bad.

F1 » McLaren, Force India withdraw from test

@ Firestorm I agree, but in saying that, we can't be too hard on Pirelli. They have had MINIMAL track time with relevant machinery. I actually don't see the point in this test TBH. Turbo charged motors have very different torque curves (highly relevant in tyre wear) to N/A cars. I feel they should rather had a pre-pre-season test, two days, at the track where the first official 2014 tests take place, maybe 2 - 3 weeks before the opening test (hence minimising travel costs). That way they'd be testing with the new machines, toughest conditions etc. And still have a a few weeks to tweak before the official tests. Ideal world, right...?
