WSBK » Sykes: Baz proved a lot of people right at my expense…

@ Tetley I actually agree with Wintax... When I watched the race it DID look like the curb got clipped and spun the bike out. Honestly, THIS is a SILLY incident. I don't see it as malicious, but, as Motojunky said, it was the opening lap. Had it not been for prior criticism at PI and Donnington, this incident would've gone unmentioned, but he has been pulling sketchy passes on his team mate all year and Kawasaki have allowed the boys to go racing, and kudos to them, it's brought some great fights. But I am sure this sort of thing Sykes was worried about. As for people complaining about Sykes' post-race comments, think about it this way: You're leading the championship, you stand a chance to become the first rider to DEFEND a WSBK title in over a decade, you stand a chance to give your team it's first CONSTRUCTOR'S championship in over 20 years, and you get taken out by your team mate, you're in pain, your title lead has been slashed by more than half, and you could EASILY have su

WSBK » Sykes: Baz proved a lot of people right at my expense…

@ BERNEYEC Seriously...? Where has he ever even HINTED at wanting Baz to give way? Really, I'll wait... The fact is this WAS a racing incident (to an extent), but if you actually watched a few races, you would note there were sketchy passes at Philip Island, Donington and even Aragon once or twice. He is regularly pulling the "Melandri Block Pass" which, while not technically illegal, is dangerous at times, SPECIALLY WHEN YOU COULD TAKE YOUR TEAM MATE OUT, which MANY people have warned of this year. And now it happened. No matter the circumstances, it was a rookie mistake and, again, the comments are justified..

WSBK » Baz caught unawares by ‘hard braking’ Sykes

jennifer.lee.712161: Baz certainly is one of my favorite riders, mistakes happen. I really don't think he deserved Sykes' comment. I am sad that Baz didn't get a higher position in race 2. He is great to watch, a real talent, who doesn't mind going the extra mile. Great entertainment!
Yes, a GREAT young talent, great to watch, but he definitely deserved Tom's comment... As I said in another comment, you lead the championship, a chance to be the first rider to defend your championship in over a decade, your team looking for their first manufacturer's title in over a decade, and now you're taken out, with an injury that COULD have made you miss a round, and ride impaired for longer than that... The anger is justified I'd say.

@ Tetley SPOT ON! Jack Miller god penalty points for EXACTLY that: going for a gap that wasn't there and, though unintentionally, taking two other riders out. Careless racing - penalty. This is a dangerous game these guys play, and they don't need it made MORE dangerous. Again, I REALLY like Baz (and anyone on a green machine). I have said many times he is a future champ in the making. He just needs to start thinking like a more experienced racer. Most riders hate Melandri for his style of passing. It's not exactly fair, it is often dangerous, not to him, but to those around him. I am sure Baz doesn't need that red bow on his tail at this early stage of his career. The fact that he races hard is GREAT! Just make it smart. We have all seen how Laverty and Sykes, Rea and Lowes can carve through a field, it's spectacular to watch, and safe(ish).

F1 » Perez hits back at Smedley

@ Mustafur Yes, he drifts... But it's not a spontaneous movement to cover the line. Massa, if you watch it a agin, DOES make a sudden left move. I was blaming Perez completely but once I read his take on it, I was like, "YEAAAHHH, WHATEVER...". Watched it from his perspective and am a little surprised...

WSBK » Sykes: Baz proved a lot of people right at my expense…

NOTE! After reading Baz's post race interview on Kawasaki Racing EU website, I sympathise a little more, he crashed, taking Tom and Alex out, but, I can still understand how Sykes is a bit sour. It is NOT only Donnington he is referring to. At PI, Baz dived down the inside at Honda Corner more than once, pushing Sykes wide and almost off track. He just needs to reign himself in a little. The kid has so much talent, he is improving so consistently, he just needs to relax. @ AmIEviL Clearly not too clued up on the2009 behind the scenes goings-on....
