WSBK » Portimao ‘a bit extreme’ for Superbikes, says Sykes

@ fastestbloke What about Donington? Brno? (He liked that one too) Nurburgring? He has done well at Portimao. Could've had a double podium last year were it not for that warm up lap brain fart. Regardless, the Kawasaki is working well again this season. Tom and Loris are both looking great and I think it'll be a great pair of races this year again. We could also see the Panigale chow some speed this time round. Aprilia are always strong here. The Honda and Suzuki will probably battle though.

WSBK » Sykes: Baz proved a lot of people right at my expense…

@ Tetley I actually agree with Wintax... When I watched the race it DID look like the curb got clipped and spun the bike out. Honestly, THIS is a SILLY incident. I don't see it as malicious, but, as Motojunky said, it was the opening lap. Had it not been for prior criticism at PI and Donnington, this incident would've gone unmentioned, but he has been pulling sketchy passes on his team mate all year and Kawasaki have allowed the boys to go racing, and kudos to them, it's brought some great fights. But I am sure this sort of thing Sykes was worried about. As for people complaining about Sykes' post-race comments, think about it this way: You're leading the championship, you stand a chance to become the first rider to DEFEND a WSBK title in over a decade, you stand a chance to give your team it's first CONSTRUCTOR'S championship in over 20 years, and you get taken out by your team mate, you're in pain, your title lead has been slashed by more than half, and you could EASILY have su

WSBK » Sykes: Hand injury is slowly improving

@ KnowNothing You are severely missing the point mate. Sykes is in NO WAY expecting a paved road to anything. But I think, as Shamarone said, the least you can ask of your team mate is to NOT take you out! And it has been a long time coming! It is just unfortunate that THIS time, it was a genuine mistake by Baz, but he has made dangerous passes all season. Sykes has even said a few times he enjoyed the battles up front. Like I said last week, ANYONE, Rossi, Laverty, Rea, Davies, Lowes, CARLOS-FREAKING-CHECA, would be super annoyed at being taken out, injured, and scoring NO points (and being close to missing a round or two if it had been ANY worse) NO MATTER WHO TOOK THEM OUT. Quit manufacturing reasons to turn him into this self entitled person he's not, when pretty much ANYONE, will tell you he's one of the nicest guys in any paddock. GO TOM! GO BAZ! GO TEAM GREEN!

WSBK » Sykes: Baz proved a lot of people right at my expense…

@ BERNEYEC Seriously...? Where has he ever even HINTED at wanting Baz to give way? Really, I'll wait... The fact is this WAS a racing incident (to an extent), but if you actually watched a few races, you would note there were sketchy passes at Philip Island, Donington and even Aragon once or twice. He is regularly pulling the "Melandri Block Pass" which, while not technically illegal, is dangerous at times, SPECIALLY WHEN YOU COULD TAKE YOUR TEAM MATE OUT, which MANY people have warned of this year. And now it happened. No matter the circumstances, it was a rookie mistake and, again, the comments are justified..

WSBK » Baz caught unawares by ‘hard braking’ Sykes

jennifer.lee.712161: Baz certainly is one of my favorite riders, mistakes happen. I really don't think he deserved Sykes' comment. I am sad that Baz didn't get a higher position in race 2. He is great to watch, a real talent, who doesn't mind going the extra mile. Great entertainment!
Yes, a GREAT young talent, great to watch, but he definitely deserved Tom's comment... As I said in another comment, you lead the championship, a chance to be the first rider to defend your championship in over a decade, your team looking for their first manufacturer's title in over a decade, and now you're taken out, with an injury that COULD have made you miss a round, and ride impaired for longer than that... The anger is justified I'd say.
