F1 » Ricciardo surprised by results against Vettel

107SS2009: CommodorS, welcome back, long time no read, Agree that a driver on the racing grid will have too/should adapt to what he is driving. One just wonders how better than Webber would Ricciardo have fared against Vettel being in last year’s RB9 instead of Webber.
Been around Sunny. Hope all's well. I don't think you can compare Daniel with Mark. Young Blood and Old School

F1 » Ricciardo surprised by results against Vettel

rob01: Dan may be surprised but I don't think the fans are surprised at all.
Neither am I. This kid is the real deal. It that is termed as nationalistic jingoism so be it. Vettel may be having a bad year but both he and Raikkonen are struggling with Front end grip due to the downforce of the New Generation cars and need to drive around it. I don't think that is unreasonable from Drivers of this calibre

Why is he the real deal? He is just driving a car very well which is enough to see him outperforming Vettel. People will always get found out and that is what's happening to Vettel .
I reckon you have answered your own question. He's the best of the rest after M.B. in a under performing car. Sort of speaks for itself.

F1 » Ricciardo not intimidated by Vettel

Chance of Rain Sunday Taipan. It's all happening. Top Gear with Ricciardo and Red Bull last weekend in Sydney. Fun Run to-day at Albert park for Charity with Webber. Support Races and Entertainment Top Shelf. All gets under way Thursday our time Mark Webber to form part of National Commentary. No doubt he will end up on yours. Brundle pessimistic as to how many cars we will see finish. Event virtually sold out. As for Ricciardo having something to say. We are Australian and don't deviate from questions unless unavoidable. I like his confidence in answering questions in awkward situations together with the forthcoming season

F1 » Ricciardo excluded from Australian GP

Daniel's still got a smile and having evening dinner with the rest of the crew whilst RBR place their arguement in front of the stewards. The remainder of the Drivers appear to have already flown out together with a number of team principles. In my opinion if found guilty RBR should wear the pain and not Daniel. Mercedes made the same error during practice and were released with a reprimand.

F1 » Are you a Mark Webber fan?

@ Mark: Take a look around like on ESPN and Mark's explains how the CTV footage was deceptive. He was also out here last Friday attending a Tribute Dinner for a good mate that suddenly died and explained the whole situation in depth. Despite what the evidence says the penalty was wrong. Knee Jerk reaction. Despite this the 1st reprimand involving Rossberg was that really worth a reprimand or a racing incident? F1 Politics gone to the extreme.

F1 » Ricciardo: I'm not here to run around in tenth place

Sounds a bit like sour grapes Richard. RBR havn't been the achievers through bad choices. This move can only be seen good for The Team/Ricciardo/F1 and Australian Motorsport. It shows RBR have a willingness to promote there junior ranks which is sadly lacking within F1.and will be perceived in that manner by the majority of Global Fans. Daniel is only young but this seat has been earned through merit.so I reckon a bit of respect is in order without the the negativity. Respect and opinion are 2 identifications He's been given a opportunity and given time with a bit more experience I reckon he will be in a position to repay RBR. Congratulations to the young man in the next stage of his career.
