F1 » Murdoch’s F1 chances 'close to zero'

I think a few people are underestimating Murdoch here. If there is a more powerful person on the planet, I cannot think of them. He doesn't just own Fox, Sky, Fuel, Telecine and National geographic TV channels, but hundreds of newspapers (such as the wall street journal and NY post) Web sites (such as IGN, MySpace and askmen.com) Harper Collins publishing, dozens of radio stations, etc, etc. Look through the list of assets he has, and I dare you to go a single day without interacting with something he owns. If you can get information from it, he has an involvement in it. check out ketupa.net/murdoch1.htm for a succinct list of his assets. Put simply, If Murdoch wants F1, he'll get it, and what it more, he'll be able to convince most people that it is exactly what they want.

F1 » Horner hails 'awesome' Webber 'driver of the day' in China

Funny how Webber's comments caused a ruckus. Can you remember any driver worth his salt who was OK with being beaten by another driver? They drive for the same team, but they are not really team-mates, they are competitors. It's not as firey as Alonso and Hamilton or Senna and Prost, but there has to be that antagonism there for each driver to progress, otherwise you end up with Schumacher and Barrichello where one is considered a great of the sport and the other is ridiculed in his home country...

F1 » Webber tyre decision 'the team's call', confesses Horner

TO all the Webber fans, don't blame the team. It has just been one of those seasons (so far). I'm a Webber fan, have been since he was backflipping Mercedes cars, but to accuse RBR of avouring Vettel is to do an injustice to a lot of guys who work their absolute guts out for Mark. Every one of his engineers and mechanics would have sold their non-essential organs to get Mark out on track in a fully functional car, but they couldn't do it. I don't think any of them will sleep tonight, and they'll be running simulations and trying to diagnose the problem without actually having the car (as it's in Park Ferme condition at the moment) So yes, it sucks that Mark has had a bad run, but behind him are literally hundreds of people, from designers to wrench turners who give 100% each and every moment. To belittle their efforts for Mark belittles him. Throw faecal matter at Helmut, Horner, heck even Seb, but you do Mark no favours by insulting his team. -end rant-

F1 » Gritty Webber makes best of a bad situation

a lot of bitterness on crash towards Webber. Fact is that he did not use KERS once during the race because it failed, meaning he was swamped at the start. To then recover from tenth into the first corner to finishing fourth is an amazing drive. His move on Massa was gutsy and full of finesse. I'd imagine that with KERS, he'd have been on the podium. Compare it to Hamilton and Alonso (probably the top two drivers in skill on the track) and how their days turned out with much fewer mechanical issues and it shows how Mark drove above himself yesterday.
