F1 » Montoya: No chance of F1 return

my point is that montoya is too good for a pseudo racing seres like nascar. he should race in real circuits, which requires a lot more than just turning left. as far as lack of overtaking in f1 goes, yes it harms the racing experience. but still, it takes a lot more to just stay in the race track in f1 than winning a nascar race. nascar is pretty exciting, but its substanceless inside.

people like sports because of its competitive nature, because everyone is really trying to win. People are entertained because of the determination of the athletes. When organisers try to prevent the superior man from winning by giving allowing others to unfairly catch up, the sports looses its integrity and looses all of its entertainment value.

hey diesel, I am not the only one saying nascar is just entertainment, drivers like kyle prtty said too. He also supported bringing out saftey cars (yes , thats what its called in real racing) to ensure closer races. On the other hand, every one is f1 opposes team orders because it manipulates results. And speaking of piquet, why should they hire drivers of any nation to boost popularity? Because its only entertainment, not sports. And do you really think people voted karthikeyan the most popular driver? Nascar gave him that award to boost poularity in India.

Do you know why montoya chose nascar? Because nascar, along with every other us sports is not a real competition. Its only a part of the entertainment business. Because of his reputation as a fine f1 racer, he has a huge market value. It does not matter wheather he wins or not. If he finishes last in every race, he will still be highly marketable. Thats why he chose nascar.
