MotoGP » Rossi’s best qualifying after Sepang save

Rossi is now 14 years in the Premier MotoGP class, 14 years older than Marquez and the current Yamaha is not as fast as the current Honda. I would say that this was a very impressive qualifying session for Rossi! Marquez has already obliterated what Rossi did in his rookie year and so for Rossi to be 2nd to Marquez is something special. We can always wonder what these great riders would have been like at the same age on similar bikes racing at the same time on the same tracks ... but at least we have this, and it's an AMAZING show! :)

MotoGP » Hayden: Things have changed, for sure…

If Hayden stays in MotoGP he'll just fade away along with guys like Edwards. Before the advanced electronics of today, rider skill could pilot a fairly uncompetitive MotoGP bike onto the podium (look at Roberts Jnr on the KR211V in 2006 and Rossi on the M1 in 2004) but these days you need the best machine to make it onto the podium. The best machine can even be termed a satellite bike like Crutchlow's Yamaha and Bradel's Honda, but beyond that, no CRT bike has been competitive enough in a full race. I'd prefer to see Hayden move to WSBK where he could even win the championship there :)

MotoGP » Pedrosa rules opening Sepang practice

Rossi went from 11th on the first lap to win the race in 2010 so you can't count him out. But that been said, Rossi has not been the rider we know most of this year. We've seen glimpses of Rossi's skill but he has been overshadowed by the top 3 in 2013. We've actually planned to fly from South Africa next year to Italy to watch the MotoGP live because we think Rossi might retire at the end of 2014. He did say that when he stops fighting for 1st place he'll retire. At least Rossi has had another win back on the Yamaha :) Mind you, where will Pedrosa be in 2015 as well :?

MotoGP » Lorenzo: 'Marquez should have been rewarded'

I really don't know how to read into that :? I suppose you had to have been there to understand it because you cannot pick up "sarcasm" too well in text. Lorenzo is speaking the truth in what many fans are wanting which is hard riding with contact. When I was younger I also wanted to see more crashes but now, after I've riden around a track myself and after we've seen some tragic accidents over the past few years, I'm a lot more concerned for the riders than seeing bad crashes. That being said, I do still enjoy the "scratching" of fairing in a race. These "battles" are always welcome as long as no one gets hurt :)
