MotoGP » MotoGP weight debate rumbles on

@ not a clue I'm just off for a test day on my wooden trike, i'll remember to add my 4kg before heading out though. As someone else stated, the biggest variable is rider weight and if by adding 4kg to the bike the rider has to move his weight around slightly more during different areas (breaking, accelerating etc.) To compensate, surely the best riders in the world can manage that. If not someone who could would take their place.

@ thetroll I never mentioned the development of the bike it was purely manufacturing costs I was referring to, and if you multiply the possible saving on each part by the quantity of each they would make (and wastage during development) it could be a substantial saving. As for the rider weight (which I never mentioned either), you may be correct in that a heavier therefore possibly stronger rider may be better on the brakes but seeing as it is bike weight and not rider weight that has been altered it's irrelevant.

@ show me the money! Preziosi is on the mark with this one, less money spent on making the bike allows more money to be spent testing and getting the bike sorted outwith race weekends, which in turn should promote more entertaining racing. I don't know about you but I'd welcome the return of closer racing instead of maybe a couple of races a year being worth watching.

MotoGP » Ducati 'working non-stop in all areas'

@ shamarone It's quite clear I was referring to a fresh approach which was markedly different from preziosi's, as preziosi's was clearly not working. As for the design of the panigale, when you say that this concept goes over the layperson are you including all the ducati moto gp technicians who couldn't get the gp bike to work with that design. We must all fall into the layperson category if that's your rational.
