MOTOGP » Cyber war? Repsol Honda compare Stoner, Rossi stats

@aussie The 2007 ducati did handle well, maybe not quite as well as the Yamaha but not nearly as far off as in the following years after moving away from the trellis frame. Serious credit due for stoner's performance on ducati with carbon frame. However if handling is not far off and power advantage is present the race can in fact be won on the straights, it's just a matter of getting to the corner 1st with enough of a gap or slowing people down in the corner.

MOTOGP » Cyber war? Repsol Honda compare Stoner, Rossi stats

@ aussie You're making me laugh now,in both of stoner's championship winning years he had clearly the best machinery available. In 07 it was a clear power advantage (majority of his passes were half way down a reasonable length straight) and last year the only fly in the ointment of total honda dominance was Lorenzo. Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking him, he's done a great job with what's been available to him and is the only one to have any success on the carbon frame but it would be far more credible if the legion of stoner fans would at least acknowledge the trutjh sometimes..

MOTOGP » Rossi: Ducati front-end feeling 'not far' from Honda

I just don't understand all this rubbish about ducati giving in by using an alloy frame and how it's going to negatively impact on the brand for sales etc. How likely is it that they were going to start making all the street bikes with carbon frames? Even if they did they would be so expensive nobody would buy then anyway. If any criticism were due it should be for moving away from the steel trellis frames which is where they have most experience and they did actually work (moto gp, wsbk). It speaks volumes that they will still be using old model 1198 with trellis frame in wsbk instead of switching to new flagship model panigale for the upcoming season.
