Tracks: Jacobsen's a classy rider. He learns quick. He's consistant. He'd do well in Moto2. The World SBK paddock if for people that couldn't make it in Grand Prix because they aren't good enough, and it definitely isn't more competitive than Moto2. Cluzel for example, top 10 on a good day in Moto2, yet he's probably the fastest in Supersport. Lowes was an exception. Dominated in Supersport and has proved he can run top 5 in Moto2 regularly.
Cluzel did worse in WSBK than he did in Moto2
He was on the suzukisaurus to be fair though.

@profx And how exactly do you know anything about me? If you bother to actually read my previous post I did say that the zx6 was introduced in 2009 so I'm not sure why you make it sound like you are disagreeing with me on this point. Regarding the r6 you might want to look at more than just the chassis numbers , it has only had minor changes since 2008 and nothing that can't be done within 600ss tuning regs . And if anybody is sounding like a broken record it's not me, just accept that ks is a good rider on a good bike and not the God like rider on a p.o.s. bike that you and others make him out to be. EDIT by CRASH.NET! It is better not to respond to such posts.

Credit where credit is due he did well this season winning the championship on a bike that is equal to the rest, roll on next year when the mv will have another years development to try and sort out the reliability issues, hopefully Cluzel will be at the same level he was before the crash and looks like pj will be on a ten-kate honda so could be his 4th and final title.

@profx Let's talk facts since you brought it up, the current r6 was introduced in 2006 and has remained virtually unchanged since 2008 where as the zx6 was first seen in its current form in 2009 and has seen the same level of development as the r6 (very limited) since then. So to say one bike is at a disadvantage due to age is really pointless (I only mentioned the r6 to make a comparison). And as for your statements that PJ would be nowhere on a Kawasaki and that Kawasaki would be nowhere without ks, last season when both riders were on largely unsupported zx6's ks ended the season in 8th with PJ and another 2 Kawasaki riders ahead of him with Kawasaki ending the season 2nd in the manufacturers standings. This year he is the only zx6 doing well (since PJ switched) as he is the only supported zx6 rider, any rider without a good level of support or a huge budget will struggle in this or any other major championship.

Cont'd And the r6 wins when Yamaha take an interest in the 600ss class not just because of the bike but also that they put a rider on the bike that is capable of winning . The machinery that Lowes was using in 2013 to win the championship was the same as Davies and Crutchlow used before him (now that's an old bike), and if you've got enough money you could buy them for ks to race next year.

boarder360: True enough, but just to be fair to Torres. He doesn't have nearly the experience Haslam does with super bikes in the rain.
a motorcycle is a motorcycle, your sponsor means more than the bike. There really is so much you can do with a motorcycle vs what you can do with a car or other kind of machine. The tires, team and sponsors mean a lot more than the displacement or class of racing. I would say Leon's experiences at Silverstone, like other British tracks, played a much more significant role in his success today, vs the "class" of bike he was on. People who honestly believe the displacement of a motor limits certain people have no idea what they are talking about. Lack of sponsor interest is what kills these guys careers, not the inability to wrap their minds around a few more cubes.
