I would like to take this opportunity to lay to rest the myth that the majority of contributors on this site are either Rossi or stoner fans and can't see past their own favourite.......... I personally will be cheering for anybody who is in front of or challenging stoner, nothing to do with Rossi, he's just sooo easy to dislike. And yes, I have met him.

@ **** wad Rossi/burgess ARE responsible for past victories, as are the engineers, technicians, designers and everyone else involved with the team. It's a team effort and everybody plays their part in the season. At the end of the day if the people at the start of the chain get it wrong then nobody else has a chance.

@ Ritchie the development of the bike is all Rossi and burgess is it? There was me thinking that the factory and engineers developed it and Rossi/burgess just tried to find the best setup with what they were given, it would appear that ducati are ploughing on with their own development program regardless of what Rossi and Hayden are saying is required.

Great rider and hope things are moving in the right direction for him but he's not going to be happy having his team mate in front of him all season. Leon appears to be able to get more out of the bike which may just be from more time on the bike but given his injuries from p.I. it might be down to sheer grit and determination.

@ Kev Why do people keep banging on about peak power figures? If you do, as you say know about engines then you will know that it is not just about big numbers, it also has a lot to do with how the power is delivered and where about in the rev range the power is usable. Ducati and all the other manufacturers know the benefits as well as the negative aspects of a twin or a four and it extends way past the engine alone, so I don't think basing you argument on peak power figures is really relevant.

@ smoker This may come as a shock to you but there are different tuning regs for different capacities hence the disparity. 1 capacity and 1 set of tuning regs would mean nobody would have a perceived advantage over the other and should mean a fairer system for all.

@ mentalist Its not all about power, eg. I have a 749s and an r6, the r6 has slightly more power and about 15 mph more top speed but point to point or lap times I'm quicker on my 749. There is more to it than just power! And I'm not having a go at ducati by claiming they have an advantage, I've got one and I love it, but things can't keep going the way they are for the good of the sport.
