MotoGP » MotoGP Le Mans - Race Results

Great race, masterclass at the front from Lorenzo. He's truly back, Jerez was not a one weekend show. But most impressive was Iannone, that was unbelievable. Took no sh*t from Marquez. Rossi made it ninth consecutive podium, I told you ladies to calm down and don't determine the winner from qualifying and practice. Having said that he has to qualify better, his race pace was amazing despite showing nothing in the practice. Also put down fastest lap of the race but chasing a leader while picking off 5-6 riders every race means he gives himself far too much to do. Roll on Mugello!

MotoGP » Lorenzo masters Mugello, Marquez crashes out

You cannot blame him for checking out at the front, if you think there is a single rider in any class who wouldn't do that if they could then you're deluded. I cannot believe how front is folding on Honda, I think total crashes of Honda is 6 this weekend. They have got a lot of work to do. Championship will be between Rossi and Lorenzo and unless Rossi can sort out his qualifying he won't beat him. At the moment he's relying on other riders to break Lorenzo's rhythm at the start which is not happening, he has to take that mantle himself.

MotoGP » ‘Over the limit’ Marquez talks Mugello misery

A testing period for Marquez as his title defence is falling apart but he'll overcome this, he is too good not to. He'll have a huge say in the championship one way or the other. @cossiegaz You wish but Honda turned him down and I doubt he's keen to help them either. Having said that, he's more likely to lose the front considering the amount of times he lost the front in his career after overriding the bike.

MotoGP » Crutchlow: Vinales hard to beat in couple of years

Anyone who has been following MotoGP for last few years (not only MotoGP class but lower classes as well) will know how highly rated Vinales is. Whatever doubts there were of him adjusting to next class have been silenced after his performances in Moto2 last year and now in MotoGP this year. The grid is most competitive from front to back after a long time and he's consistently finishing inside top 10 and is 9th in standings. Marquez was always highlighted as a future premier class champion when he was racing in lower classes and same has been said about Vinales. In my opinion he'll become one, he's special.

MotoGP » Rossi: Lorenzo's form is bad news for me

Yearby23: There's only one rider who managed to consistently catch Lorenzo mid-race and win the race and that was Pedrosa during the 2012 season. Lorenzo would dart away for 10 laps and Pedrosa would slowly catch him.
Pedrosa was able to do that because Honda gave him 2013 bike post Brno, which solved their chattering issues and gave him edge over Lorenzo. There have been very few instances where a rider has caught and passed Lorenzo after he's escaped at the front. Rossi has caught him thrice this season but in every instance he's opted for harder compound. Rossi qualifying record this season reads 8, 4, 8, 5, 7, 8. That's abysmal! To beat Lorenzo with same bike, same compound you have to be within touching distance at the first corner again meaning he has to improve his qualifying

MotoGP » Rossi: Lorenzo's form is bad news for me

Damage limitation for him, when Marquez bullied the entire field early on with the two Ducati's and Pedrosa in the mix. I thought his run of podiums will come to an end, to his credit he pulled off a miraculous front save and finished on the podium. To beat Lorenzo, you have to rattle him early on. Don't let him get a full lap in front of you or it's over. I think they have to dedicate not just a session but a full possible day to work on a setup where he can extract one quick lap in qualifying. Here is hoping Rossi and his crew will do just that in post-Catalunya test.

MotoGP » MotoGP Mugello - Race Results

Lorenzo's hammer could go head to head with Thor's tbh, scary pace at the front. Amazing ride by Iannone. Alarm bells are ringing at Honda, Marquez hopes of championship are disappearing into fumes. They are also ringing at other side of Yamaha garage, podium is a good result but it's reaching a stage where a podium is not good enough. He has to beat Lorenzo otherwise he'll keep mounting points on him, he added another 9 today to make it 23 in last 3 alone.

MotoGP » Latest 2015 MotoGP Championship standings

Look at the state here, you would think Dorna would do all of us a favor if they hand over the championship to Lorenzo right now and save us from the remaining procession. It is far from finished, so many variables are in play in a single session let alone 12 races. Opinions can change so quickly, Marquez made a thunderbolt start off the line today and if that front doesn't fold on him you'd claim him as a genius and say he's still in the reckoning. Rossi has shown earlier he can win races, and the two won't race on the same compound for remainder of the races. Tire choices will play a part. You can rightly claim Lorenzo to be favorite right now given his form but don't start the drum roll for the celebrations just yet.

MotoGP » MotoGP Mugello - Full Qualifying Results

Iannone continues to impress, even though he had good reference in Lorenzo for his pole but he won't mind. Even more impressive are Suzuki, only 2 and a half tenths on Lorenzo's time imagine what they could do with more horses. Another poor qualifying for Rossi, as usual he'll have to work his way from 8th and by the time he passes the Ducati, Lorenzo would be 2-3 seconds ahead of him and that will be race done. Lorenzo has already taken 15 points off him in last 2 races and Rossi has to qualify better because on this form he'll eventually overtake him in standings. That he won his last races from 8th position is of little relevance here because both of them came when he opted for harder compound and here he'll race on same compound i.e., medium which Lorenzo will also be racing. With Honda and Marc troubles, Lorenzo is his clear rival for his 10th crown and he can bid it goodbye unless he can qualify better.
