Motojunky - You are not one of the 'die-hard' fans to which I refer. I really do believe that Stoner's domination of Rossi is the source of the anger and vitriol that is heaped upon him in this forum and many others by fans of a certain persuasion. You know the ones, they still think Rossi is the fastest guy out there and the fact he isn't winning is down to unfair advantages held by other riders (rather than accept it is is due to the skills of the other riders). Further, why would I be embarrassed if Rossi manages a podium? Where do I suggest that Rossi won't get a podium? I would have to eat crow if Rossi did, in fact, start dominating Stoner again this season... but do you truly believe that is going to happen? How could a rider that was once the king of all he surveyed not feel somewhat red-faced by his slip down to the middle of the field? As for my posts being bait posts... where have I lied or told deliberate untruths? You view them as bait posts because I do not share your

Trying hard is irrelevant. This is racing and results are what count. Rossi built his reputation on results. If he hadn't won so much, there wouldn't be so many people who follow him now. However, he is not the best out there now and becoming a mid-pack rider must be tough on the ego for a guy who used to be the best. Some of his more ardent fans need to accept that the baton has passed and stop carrying on like he should be winning every race by right. As far as respect goes, how much respect did he show to mid-pack or lesser riders when he was the boss?
