MotoGP » Smith relishing Mugello return

mrfill:
SwissJudge: I don´t hate Smith. What I don´t like is he is occupying a seat which is competitive so it takes away from the viewer the potential for more action (like Cal). And it also looks like the decision to hire Smith was politically motivated given he was the top Brit rider.
At the end of the 2012 season, he certainly was not the top Brit rider in moto2 - that would be Redding, who came 5th. Smith was 9th. Politics don't pay riders wages - money does. He probably had a better sponsorship deal and/or a sharper manager.
When he signed the contract someone believed he would be an appropriate choice from Tech3. I have never believed this to be the case and I have stated this many times. I have even stated in this thread that Redding is much more skilled.... omg

MotoGP » Under pressure Lorenzo keen to evoke 2006 memories

BrazilDUluwita: I love Vale to till the day I die and in all eternity. But I must say this too.... JLO will get out of this mess that he is in now. He needs to get his head strong again. He is a damn good MotoGP racer. I wouldn't take that credit away from him, as it is not fair as a MotoGP fan. Nobody can help JLO, but only him. He needs to get his head strong again.
True but until that happens hopefully we will get to see some more great brain explosions... I think JL started going down this path when in FP1 last race of last year he bumped the back of MM bike. A little bit of a reality check for JL ego is what is required. The jump start was very funny though :-) I would like to see one more of those. One can only imagine the reaction from the Italian crowd if we get a repeat of that one. So lets dust off our hand bags and have a free for all at the I T A L I A N motogp race !!!!!!

MotoGP » Marquez eager to right Mugello wrong

ducfer: SwissJudge, Because Ducati had those programmers Stoner asked many times to switch off electronics in order to slide more, "steer" with the back? Ducati issues are/were always related with front feeling/understeer.Best electronics can't overcome understeer,is about geometry, balance. Custom tyre prevented rubber wear caused by understeer, lost with control tyres. Beside that i was talking about 2008,2009.
I am neither here nor there with regards to your comment. Where the Ducati won out was with regard to out of the corner and down the straight. As for the bikes themselves? I don´t think anyone who is not intimately involved with the setting up of the bikes etc knows what is going on. How the electronics influences the engine brakes and suspension is as clear as mud.

MotoGP » Marquez eager to right Mugello wrong

ducfer: 46marquez27, Not the best comparison,Stoner had inferior material to what Marquez has .Rossi had an easier task in 2008,2009 when he beaten Stoner.
In 2007 Stoner had the rocket ship motor and the three great Italian ECU programmers (who are now at Honda) and custom made to fit Ducati Bridgestones. In Stoners Honda WC winning year he had a powerful Honda with the fantastic seamless gearbox and the three Italian ECU programmers. Wherever the Italian programmers have gone success has almost always followed them...

MotoGP » Smith relishing Mugello return

Insidejob: Expect a top 5 finish from Bradley. He is going from strength to strength. If it's wet we could see him dicing with the aliens for a podium.
I applaud your loyalty towards Smith. I respect that. Obviously you believe that he has great potential, which is also why Tech3 signed him up. I don´t hate Smith. What I don´t like is he is occupying a seat which is competitive so it takes away from the viewer the potential for more action (like Cal). And it also looks like the decision to hire Smith was politically motivated given he was the top Brit rider. Would you like some mayonnaise for you hat when the time comes to eat it? I´ll even boil it up for a few days to make it easier for you to eat. (just a friendly joke) ;-)

MotoGP » Crutchlow: It’s going to be crazy!

ducfer: Ducati fans are loyal and sensitive.Crutchlow started on wrong foot already, time to score.
All fans are loyal and on certain issues sensitive. Wether it be loyalty to riders, manufacturers or wanting action no matter who provides it. As for the Ducati team I like that it appears as though Ducati has remained Italian. It is a pity that the three ECU programers left Ducati. For me that is the main problem. But business is business and the big two from Japan are always going to pay big dollars. What VW/Audi may want to consider is offering big bucks to get those three back to Ducati. I always thought it was a pity that Loris got taken out by Sete and lost the opportunity to give Ducati their first WC with an Italian rider. Cal needs to take a leaf from Rossi and start being a realist. OK it is frustrating for him but it does seem to be costing him at the very least the places from Dovi to him.
