F1 » Caterham F1 baffled by Kobayashi DNF comments

Kobayashi said in an interview after Russian GP that he had no problem with the brake during the race, rather his pace with prime tyres was good. He said he had no idea why the team stopped him. He was forced not to drive so much in free practices to save the life duration of parts, so he drove only 39 laps while Rosberg completed 84 laps. His rear suspension arm had a crack, and it was fixed and reinforced instead of be replaced. It seems the team wants to save parts. Kobayashi also said in the interview that he will not go to American GP if the team does not give him the same car with new aero parts as Ericsson has and spare parts. He must be fed up with the treatment of the team.

F1 » Hamilton on pole as Bottas squanders chance

Kobayashi is usually 1 second faster than Ericsson in Qualification. However, Kobayashi's FP1 has been robbed after Italy, his car has not had new aero package introduced from Japanese GP but only Ericsson' car has it, and Caterham does not have spare parts to fix so that he cannot try to squeeze the best performance from the car. As a result, Kobayashi is 0.5 second slower than Ericsson this time. If Kobayashi had had the chance to drive FP1 with the new aero package and spare parts, he would have beaten Grosjean in Q1 who is just 0.1 second faster than Ericsson and make his way to Q2. Caterham as well as he lost the good oppotunity, and this is really regrettable. Caterham had better to attract new sponsors by showing good performance, rather than to get small money by having new driver in FP1.
